2 big wins by eastern Park today. B grade won by about 8 goals and the A grade smashed Spoc by about 25 goals. SPOC were pathetic after the 1st qtr.

Heard a couple of Athelstone players complained of Uni "eye gouging" on the weekend

1 player ended up going to hospital with bad scratches to his eye after the 2nd incident.....

Just general rumours, or do we have details of the event? Which quarter, player, etc....

I'd like to hear some opinions on the premiership favourites here and why. The Phantoms seem to have hit a bit of form but will they be able to do it come September?
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!

Modbury headed down Anzac Highway and met a PHOS team confident of a home win with an official telling our runner that Modbury were in for a tough day at the office.

For the first qtr this was seemingly the case with PHOS first to the ball and using the breeze well to skip away to a 4 goal lead in the blink of an eye.

After that Modbury clicked into gear, won the contested footy and controlled the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. But the Hawks didnt put PHOS away with a few poor decisions and turnovers at crucial stages and Modburys lead was cut back to a few goals at 3qtr time. In the last qtr the Hawks did what was required to get the result and keep the season alive.... Good even team performance and credit were credit is due the umpiring was the best all season in both A and B grade games.

Umpiring always seems to be better when you come out the winner. . The game was fairly heated and i though the umpires handled themselves very well when things got rough.

Shame to see another eye gouging incident from a PHOS player, apart from kicking someone in the nuts i dont think there is a lower act!

Modbury vs Uni game this weekend should be an absolute cracker!

NO not at all, and i think it was the first time we have had that umpiring combination.

I thought in the first qtr of the A grade we had a heap of frees against us and i think only had 1 free for the qtr. That was purely because we were second to the ball.

As Sass highlighted when a few spot fires broke out, they took control sent a player off who obviously did something and then straight back to the free kick.

The B grade umpires were also good and we lost!!! they were consistent in their decision making and 25m penalties.
