Brendo's Damage Inc could be cast in the role of spoiler after pulling off a stunning upset over top eight side Jacks Stars on the weekend. The Stars have a very tough run home and now look to be in serious jeopardy of missing the eight after topping the ladder in the early rounds.

Cheering on the Damage were FOOTYLEDGENS who nearly got upset themselves by drexelpower and Underbelly who is now in a position to make a charge. FNQ Trotters were stopped in their tracks by Leisa's Lovelies and like the Stars they face a tough run home. Gingernuts cleaned up goodwood sharks and Spiro is another coach who might be a surprise omission from the August action.

Once again FNQ Trotters features in the Piglet match of the round this time against the impressive Underdogs combination. Trotters had no cover for Brendon Goddard last week but the return of Goddard will not help the FNQ side against the Underdogs who look too strong in all departments. For the second week in a row Cub's FOOTYLEDGENS will play in a survival match against Gingernuts' Ginger Ninjas and a similar result to the Hogg Premier fixture last week will keep the Cub's finals hopes alive.

Kiwi Krapper's will open the door to the top eight by defeating an out of sorts Jacks Stars that faces a very tough run home and look set to miss the finals. Damage Inc scored an upset win last week and co do so again to put the kibosh on the cobras and there appear to be bully wins coming up for goodwood sharks, Underbelly, REBCats and Leisa's Lovelies.

While there might be plenty of surprises in Division VI this week it's the same ol situation in the Piglet with the expected teams winning this week with the possible exception of the cobras who somehow won again by scoring under 1700 points.

Underbelly and FOOTYLEDGENS kept their season alive but it looks like year over for Jacks Stars who have hit the wall. FNQ Trotters and the cobras will be looking over their shoulders this week although all of the teams in the middle of the ladder have tough assignments coming up this week.

Underbelly stormed into the top eight after smashing the goodwood sharks as they fired a warning shot across the bows of the Piglet contenders. Booney pulled off a showdown like win over Gingernuts who clings to a top eight spot and the top four all continued on their winning way.

drexelpower claimed their second ever Hogg win and winless best team ever went within 8 points of breaking their Hogg duck. FOOTYLEDGENS look gone now after losing to REBCats yet again and FNQ Trotters are hoping for a cobras loss in the last round to sneak into the eight.

With bottom, top and top four all settled the only thing left to wrap up in the Piglet this season is the battle for that last spot in the eight which is currently being held by a very average cobras combination. The cobras are about to be sent packing by the top scoring Underdogs so that leaves two sides in contention for 8th spot as I can't have Jacks Stars over the in form Leisa's Lovelies.

Cub's FOOTYLEDGENS seem to have run out of gas as this year's 'funky selections' have not paid off for him. This game seems so easy with 20 trades in the bank! After Underbelly went on a scoring rampage last week it's hard to see the Cub winning by enough to displace Underbelly from the eight. A narrow win for the LEDGENS won't be enough as I'm tipping a solid win by FNQ Trotters over Damage Inc. So it's FNQ Trotters in and cobras out for the top eight in the Piglet this season with Adam's best team ever set to go winless after copping top of the ladder Kiwi in the last round.

Justice was served in the Piglet with cobras missing out to the superior FNQ Trotters unit. Jacks Stars pulled off a reversal of form but it is only good enough to get Jack into 9th spot this season. Booney won again and is looking to Richmond out the bottom eight finals like last year.

Division IV Finals Week One

Qualifying Finals

I reckon the Lovelies can bounce back in no uncertain terms and give The Kiwi just his second loss of the season. Despite the impressive 14-1 record, I’m not sold on the Kiwi being a legitimate contender and the Lovelies could pounce here. The Underdogs were unlucky losers last week against the REBCats but they’ll earn themselves a week off in a close and high scoring contest.

FNQ Trotters will upset The Ginger Ninjas who look a very unimpressive finalist I must say. The Trotters have a pretty good combination and the Ninjas will need to trade wisely to advance. Trotters to win. Underbelly’s recent form has been outstanding and they’ll take out the goodwood sharks for the second time in three weeks to fight on for another week.

None of the top four in the piglet fired this weekend but it was the Underdogs and the Lovelies who can now draw a deep breath and sit it out for a week. The Krapper's put in their worst performance for the year with their defeat and my REBCats had six players out. I love finals time!

FNQ Trotters had an impressive win over Gingernuts in the knockout final this weekend and it's bye bye Underbelly who were taken out by a shark. The Trotters look in good shape to rattle the Kiwi next week while the sharks will face the REBCats on the rebound.

Kiwi’s failure will be complete this weekend as they do a good impersonation of the Black Caps come the business end of any major international tournament. Krapper’s flat track bullied everyone all year long but now that August has hit the wheels have well and truly fallen off. FNQ Trotters to salute and earn promotion into Div III next season. In the other final REBCats will awaken from their slumber and send the sharkies packing.

Semi Finals

The two top four teams who lost their Qualifying Finals last week hit back with victories in the Semi Finals even though Minor Premier Kiwi only just fell over the line against the FNQ Trotters. Krapper's trailed all weekend long but finished all over the top of the Trotters to earn promotion to Division III next season. The REBCats hit back hard against Spiro's goodwood sharks as they fell out of the Piglet on the back of a three hundred point thrashing.

Division IV Preliminary Finals

The Promotions have been decided early in Division IV because of the large amount of double up teams in the Piglet. It is to be the battle of the promoted sides in the first Prelim Final with Brad’s resurgent Krapper’s taking on the most impressive team in the Piglet, The Underdogs. Kiwi won the earlier match between the two and did enough to get by the Trotters last week and I reckon they might just surprise the Underdogs this week. Kiwi’s unusual team has been untouched by the Freoitis that has hit so many coaches. It appears that fortune has smiled on the Kiwi who can now advance to the Grand Final.

In the other Prelim I’m liking the look of the draw here as Leisa’s Lovelies have not being scoring well in recent weeks. With the REBCats full of Cats and the Lovelies full of Carlton players Friday night’s match between Carlton and Geelong will prove to be decisive. An early lead will be critical. REBCats to clean up the Lovelies and take on Kiwi Krapper’s in the Grand Final.

Preliminary Finals

A couple of one sided Prelim finals here decided which teams would appear in the Piglet Playoff next week. There wasn't too much SuperCoach discussion around the REB household this week as I was hoping Mrs REB would forget to address the many donuts in the Lovelies. This week has proven that silence is golden, as any married men would tell you.

The other prelim was a walk in the park for Gibbo who fully deserves her Grand Final spot after outscoring everyone all season long. Kiwi's first SuperCoach season has seen a very creditable performance indeed but he's come up short against the Gibb here.
