Been racking my brains on this one.

I saw a couple of very similar buildings in Morocco, so I'm thinking somewhere like Western Sahara or Mauritania, but Timbuktu is in Mali, so I'll go with that!

It's the Great Mosque of Djenné - "the largest mud brick or adobe building in the world and is considered by many architects to be the greatest achievement of the Sudano-Sahelian architectural style".
