Did you see the footage R&B ???

He and Sam Rowe were in a wrestle, Sam threw a punch at Chris, Chris retaliated...

You'd expect the same from a Westies player if someone threw a punch at them wouldn't you ?

And of course, poor little Chris would have had nothing to do with the fight starting in the first place.

We know what a big fan you are of the Gowans AH. How many times has he been reported over the last 11 years?

Not guilty. The verdict was in the earlier post. Not guilty.
Rowe pleads guilty, found guilty reprimand.
Right decision by the tribunal.

Jut a little sensitive there, Phil :)

I stand by my obviously tongue-in-cheek statement. I doubt whether I've ever seen a game where Chris and James haven't been in some sort of push and shove.

It's predictable and boring.

PS: I didn't see the footage, but you agree with my correct statement - he was in a fight with another player, which is all I said ;)

I thought Salter lined his player up whereas Grocke's was more incidental to players going for the ball. Mind you, I though Salter hit his bloke reasonably legally (although my memory on this is sketchy) whereas Grocke happened to hit his high. Neither deserved weeks IMO.

get over it mate, two blokes had a bit of a roll around and they got off the way it should be, after all it is a mans sport and no one was hurt.

Sorry, I forgot that I had no right to make comment about B1 & B2. From now on I'll only put forward kind gleaming words of praise for them both. However you may need to remind me when my eyes see the awful truth.

What the truth that he has more premiership medals by himself than all the current sturt players put together.

Oh and off course Chambers runs around saying "excuse me Mr Williams can i please have a minute of your time to discuss you previous decision"

A mans character isn't judged by the premiership medals he has got so stop using that ridiculous argument, it stands for nothing and is a fools statement.
Chambo mouths off far too much for his own good but everytime he gets 25 or 50. People have a problem when other people aren't held to account. Gowans are great players and characters and team men but when it comes to sportsmanship I think they are lacking.

Maybe ask some of the Sturt players that played state footy with them, what they think. Or speak to someone from Novita Children's services to find out what the boys do for kids and the community, whilst forming your opinion.

They probably are great guys and their State team mates enjoyed their company, I've never really doubted or questioned that. As I said before, for some reason they get a huge leeway from the umps considering how they behave on the footy field towardsvthe umps and other players, and this is where other supporters get annoyed. Definate white line fever with those two

Disagree, Cutterman. I never see them getting anything from the umps, pretty much the opposite. I do agree with you in regard, that they shouldn't bother arguing with the umps, particularly like they did at Unley. Not worth it.

Actually, there was a huge red and blue contingent on the eastern wing so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more than 50% Norwood people there. You guys were even complimentary about our turn out! Regardless, we cant win - as I said before, you guys laid the pressure on thick for the Norwood crowd to attend. Fair enough. Not unreasonable in many ways at all. I even promoted the car parking arrangements. And come the Norwood faithful did. Hey, they didn't even want us to leave because they locked the gates on Goodman St! Yet after the game, the Norwood faithful are described (by some) as bandwagoners on here and on CDFC Info. Comments about new merchandise, etc etc etc. Realistically, few people would drive all that way to Elizabeth if they were bandwagoners.

If you want to discuss bandwagoners, here's a stat to think about:

CDFC membership figures
1999 - 1,150
2000 - 1,362 (year won first flag)
2001 - 1,936 (year after first flag - up 42%, where'd they come from?)

2006 - 2,940
2007 - 2,305 (the year after the 2006 GF loss - down 22%, where'd they go?)

Anyway, play on....this is a tribunal thread.

No more than Nathan Grocke and Nick Salter both who do unheralded low profile non-media stuff than the Gowans so why do they get suspended and the Gowans get off time and again?

Get off time and again?? You've got your foot on the exaggerator pedal. I'd like you to post when all these times were, instead of posting fiction. I didn't see the Grocke and Salter incidents or at least don't recall them) so can't comment.
My comment above was in response to postings about character etc. I don't know Grocke and Salter and have never denigrated them, referred to them as "girls", B1, B2 etc. I don't doubt they're probably top blokes also.

More accurate. Not in the same league as Hartlett's jumping elbow on Switala, which drew blood and forced him from the ground though. Hartlett, guilty only one match. The tribunal is a lot more lenient nowadays. Point of difference to the AFL.

I just wish Kris "make it four QCs this time" Grant, Roy Laird and the players were half as smug, complacent and lazy as the majority of Centrals fans.

If you're insisting on accuracy, sjt, you should practice what you preach.

Hartlett was reprimanded, didn't get one match.

PS: I also support topsy's thoughts.
