installed Windows 7 last night with help from dissident, and have to say so far I am quite impressed with it. Its clean, a lot more user friendly than vista, and the new task bar layout is quite interesting.

I still use XP for my gaming pc, no need to change. It works, nothing breaks, its quick.
Tempted to get my son's laptop upgraded to 7 as occasionally when I have to go on it I dislike Vista.

Finally had enough spare time on the weekend to upgrade my laptop from Vista to Windows 7. I had left it so long because Vista didn't actually bother me that much.

I now realise I had lowered my expectations, Windows 7 is infinitely better than Vista. Memory usage alone is a reason to upgrade.

Hmm might have to do it, I have 2 lappys working off vista but the desktop is on Windows 7. One thing I love about W7 is being able to tap into it wirelessly (is that a word?) via my PS3 therefore not having to export/import downloaded movies etc, as soon as they are on my PC I can pick them up and watch thru the PS3

I was always happy with XP, but I thought Vista was rubbish. I'd thought that Windows 7 was just a less-crap version of Vista so I was pleasantly surprised. I bought a new laptop today so now I even have a legal copy of it.

Am having issues with my battery since the upgrade. I had about 45-60 minutes life in it prior to upgrade, down to under minutes afterwards. Didn't bother me as it is a two year old laptop so a new battery was purchased.

W7 has yet to recognise the battery, turning my laptop into a portable desktop. Googling tells me this is a fairly widespread issue with no resolution as yet.

My advice, don't upgrade a laptop to W7 just yet.
