Well actually you wouldn't. We gave up our home game early in the year to get a triple header and you guys wouldn't entertain returning the favour.
Regardless, we had 10 willing and able players to choose from so it was never going to happen either way.
If you C grade blokes make your way down to Glandore then I will gladly shout you a beer to make up for it!

I doubt that we would not have come down to return the favour, did someone actually speak with the coach and he said no? i understand it doesnt matter now anyway, im just surprised that if we were asked that we said no. last year we even played Pooraka on a friday night so they could have numbers to play, we have 25 willing players and im sure they would have been happy to come down and play an early game and then watch our b and c grade.

There was 55 named in the 'extended' C grade squad this week Dragons by the way.... ;)
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Ouch!! That's going to cost me
Well maybe we could borrow 15 of them (the best ones) and make a game of it - under 8's style

that's the response we had from GG- no (GG away) triple headers.
We gave up our home game last year, even after being flogged in R1 at Harpers Field.
We played under lights up there, wasn't a bad night.
The sledging on the hill was the highlight of the night...

I have heard that this is correct to an extent Punky, apparantly you aske dto play a 'scratch" match the week we both had a buy in exchange for you guys coming down next week and playing a night game. We said no to that. Turns out we could not do a night game now as we have our mid year gala dinner on this saturday night. Not sure if we knew this at the time however? :? To be honest when i was told this on saturday i thought we should have done something to return the favour as we should have to WOS.

Looking forward to a good hit out against you guys this week! I have not played at Fitzroy since i played junior footy!

The reason given was along the lines of protecting the arrangement of always having 2 home games each week (at GG).
Last year, it didn't concern us giving up a home game.
This year, I've not been involved in the decision making, & am a tad ignorant as to what gets arranged behind closed doors.
Funnily enough, both my Fitzroy milestones (50th & 100th games) were played at Harper's Field.

Very confused. Is Thomas Colebatch playing in C4 or in the WAFL? Didn't he kick a 100 a couple of years ago?

he's doing not much - having a few pies out at some waafl grounds.
he kicked plenty but mostly from the goalsquare.

Yes, well done to you. We nearlly pinched that one form you late when we were beaten all day. Losing a couple now is not the end of the world for us, we shoudl still stay top two now and with a final four top spot is not as critical. You boys needed that win more than we did and that deffinately showed. We should get a full side back in the next two weeks just in time for finals, not saying that is why we lost we still had a good side on the park just not a bench this week! I would suggest you will stay in the four now? not sure of your run home. Well played. :(

Yes good win by Fitzroy, but why did a guy who is coming 3rd in the goalkicking in the reserves get dropped to the C's ? wonder how many other B graders played

Not too sure about that if they did well then good luck to them. They needed the win to stay in the hunt. I cant remember who played last time to be honest. We should have played better ourselves and are not looking to make any excuses apart from our own current form.

to be honest, I'm not sure- there was no "master plan" to beat GG.
We did what every other C grade does- pick 25 available guys that weren't selected in A or B grade.

I wasnt suggesting there was a master plan. I would have thought the plan would always have been to beat us though?
Would have to have helped having a guy sitting third in the D4R play for you this week though. Would have been great to be able to pick 25 players last week! Horror week for us in that area.

All i was saying is that if you are able to throw a few guys back to help get you into the finals then good luck to you, once you are there anything can happen. Fortunately for us all 4 grades will play finals so i guess we should have a stronger side come finals.

my reply was directed at bay boy.

If you guys had a D grade, doesn't that also mean you had more than 25 to choose from? ;)

Honestly not really, the D grade for us is like most C grade sides, a lot more older guys that only really want to play there.

They actually only had 19 to start also. A couple of them came back and played for us in the second half. I would love it if some of the older, experienced guys played with us.

either way we lost you won, regardless of who was playing i dont think the guy who came down was the difference anyway.
