Who will be the 400th Australian Test Player

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Money would have to be on the 400th test player to be a bowler. The next five players would probably play within 18 months, and I can't see Punter, Haydos, Langer retiring, and Hodge and Hussey could be around for a while as well (As long as the form holds).

McGrath is almost 50, Warne is the same... won't last forever

Brett Dorey looks the goods, though probably before 400. Cullen the same ...

So it would be a bowler, unless "injury" gives someone a chance.

Quoting Ian Chappell in his new book about getting a game for an Australian XI which was playing the touring South Africans in '63-64, which was before he made his test debut.

"I thought I was a real chance to play, but they went for Terry Lee, a New South Wales all rounder. I was annoyed because Lee had only played a couple of games. I had been around a lot longer, was batting at number three for South Australia and had scored a double century for my state"

gavin robertson was less of a joke than nathan hauritz playing a test match. What a chump.

As long as number 400 is not Cameron White I do not care!

Apparently Ponting has Cossie running laps of the Complex in Chittagong at the break in the one-dayer

Tasmania had a couple of young batsmen who performed really well last season, not 100% sure of name(s) though, i think one was Birt? Could be one of them.
