Agree with you on the Golden ALe, had a similar experience in Sydney at the Brewhouse there at Darling Harbour last year, beautiful steaks as well.

Tucking into a 6-pack of Doppelbock Winter Ale from the lads at Monteith's Brewing Co.

I think 6 is all I'll manage though - it's rich, heavy and has a high alcohol %. Definitely a winter ale.

My friend brought around something the other day - you know those Vodka Cruisers? They've got a beer out now. It tastes like a beer-flavoured vodka cruiser, to be honest. And the low alcohol content doesn't endear it to me any further. Not recommended. =:) <---- that's meant to be the vomit one but I can't seem to find it in the list of emoticons just now.

I've got a complete carton of 2003 (I think it's 03) Vintage Pale under my bar.
I keep wondering if I should keep it or crack it...
I finished off the penultimate of five cartons from that year last year and it was just delicious.

Mmmmmmmmmm...

Beer to be sold in dead animals

Twelve bottles of The End Of History ale have been made and placed inside seven dead stoats, four squirrels and one hare.

And at 55 per cent volume, its makers claim it is the world's strongest beer.

A taxidermist in Doncaster worked on the animals, which were not killed for bottling the new drink, with some having been killed on the roads.

Outfits featured on some of the animals include a kilt and a top hat.

BrewDog, of Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, created the ale, which is stronger than whisky and vodka.

The brewer recommend the beer should be served in a shot or whisky glass ''to be enjoyed like a fine whisky''.

Brewdog are just a few miles along the coast from me...their Punk IPA is delicious.

Bad news boys they've already sold out (I think it took about 4hrs) but here's some pictures of what you missed...they're madder than a bag of badgers
