Kings of Leon... yeahh??? NAH!

Soundgarden.. who?

Chilli Peppers would never play a BDO. They're simply too big for a BDO.

The... Who??

They were pretty big when they played last time. Although I think you are right, why play BDO when you can charge extortion-like ticket prices for your own tour

Rumour is the Pop/Williamson version of the Stooges will be appearing. Which is good from the point of the view at least they'll get to Australia but shit from the point of view they won't do any sideshows if that's the case.
If they do play this time I hope Lees and West have the common sense to get them to headline Melbourne.

My guess is Soundgarden will do Soundwave. As for the BDO, not sure who they will get to headline but I think the below are all strong chances.

Hole
Arcade Fire
The Gaslight Anthem
Mystery Jets
MGMT

Soundgarden were hilarious at the 1996 BDO.

Someone threw a water bottle on stage and Ben, the Bass Player, cracked the sh!ts. Chris Cornell threatened to just walk off.

But they still went on to play Spoonman, Black Hole Sun and Rusty Cage, so all good.

Rancid - would be long overdue
Midnight Oil - Garrett to do what he does best
Stone Temple Pilots - new album & have been doing the rounds
Crowded House - reformation
Radiohead - cause they're rumoured every year

For those who need to get the day off work before all their workmates do, Adelaide BDO will be Friday Feb 4th next year.

Metallica played BDO in 2004 and they're a lot bigger than Chilli Peppers.

The volume of tips and rumours here at Tone Deaf HQ has been steadily increasing as the anticipation for the lineup announcement of Big Day Out 2011 looms closer. But the interesting thing is that over time 2 names have appeared quite regularly in our inbox; Soundgarden and Kings Of Leon.

We can now say that with some arm twisting we’ve managed to find a leak straight from the source, the Big Day Out office. We’re prepared to say that Soundgarden will headline Big Day Out 2011 playing on the blue stage. Kings Of Leon will be the orange stage headliner. Stone Temple Pilots will also appear, as supports for Soundgarden on the blue stage.

Triple M recently broke the story that Australian promoters were overseas at Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, and had signed on Soundgarden for a tour early next year. This fits in well with what we’re told about Big Day Out 2011.

What do you think? As always keep the tips rolling in to tips@tonedeaf.com.au
