IB over Mt Lofty by about 4 goals. Early lead which stretched out to 6-7 goals in 2nd but Lofty fought back. Good game.

Of other results not yet on sporting pulse I heard Mt Barker smashed Hahndorf.

Witnessed yesterday the worst display of umpiring ever at the Onkas v Lobey game. This must be addressed as the two imposters were not even aware of the correct rules of the game. To have this level of incompetent umpiring at an A grade central division game is a blight on the HFL. The standard of umpiring is getting worse and must be addressed asap as it is totally unacceptable.

I am not normally one for umpire bagging, but I would have to agree with you FM. The standard has dramatically gone downhill in umpiring. Not just inconsistency from week to week, but from the two officiating umpires during the same game. Can you give us some examples from yesterday's game which have you outraged?

Furthermore, what a cracking finale to the end of the year we may have, with four teams vying for 2 spots, and the likelihood that anyone of these seven teams could make the GF. Predictions for GF teams at this stage, and look back and laugh or gloat in 10 weeks time.

Umps at Cherry Gdns not bad. Honestly went to game expecting Lofty to win even with PG out. IB had a couple of better its players out as well and I must admit they are better than I thought. Wendels, Ben Y and co where quiet and it is the standard of their so called lesser players that surprised. They clearly have the best midfielder in Brad Yoemans in the comp, the guy must have had 30 clearances himself. Their only soft spot may be lack of a "name" ruckman. Was a hard tough finals type game. IB have to be congratulated for getting the whole club back to where it is now and talking with some committee they have some good seeds palnted for there juniors who by the way won most grades yesterday. Congrats to both clubs for also instigating the Hutton - Pole trophy which is played for by the senior colts with the winning team keeping until they next meet. Overall a great day again of country footy.

Not sure about roosters but have seen the tigers a bit and know a few around the club. they are competitive with best side on the park. Just hasn't happened all season, injuries taking big toll. was told they had 7 first choice players out yesterday and lost another one before half time. have had 5 season ending injuries over last couple months. Recruits are good but don't have the depth of other clubs that can afford to recruit mass numbers each year.

Who were the to umps if you dont mind me asking? We had Taylor and Tanner, not too bad i guess, didnt really notice them much which is probably a good thing. Id say we got most of the free's but thats what happens when your first to the footy. Bonner was yellow carded for a terrible late and high bump, thought the yellow was a little soft as it would have been 4 weeks in the AFL. I think the umps are a little scared of showing their red cards as they are well aware it will put them in front of the rotting corpses we call a tribunal.

Great result by the Thunderers over Mt Lofty.
Great turn around from the start of the year for the A grade.
Hear majority of the Ironbank grades got up for the day.
Now that would of been a belter night at the club for sure!!
Keep up the good work Gaz Campbell - great to see!!

Looking at the last 6 rounds for IB, Lofty and Onkas......this game should be a prelude to the first simi-final

Lebron think you will find when Barker played Bankers Yoemans beat your man. Fisher was moved to half forward off him during 3rd quarter. Still think Barkers MOST valuable is Noonan by a mile. Every game when it comes crunch time he is THE man. No doubt about that.

Im suprised you didnt notice Taylor, usually he tries to make the game about him, pair him up with his mate Holmes and you have your own travelling circus.

Bankers too strong on Saturday and played a good aggressive brand of footy.
B grade got pumped, def missed Splinter Benson (and others). Showed up a few deficiencies in both grades which will not bode well for finals football unless things change - and fast!

i would think the player they missed the most is your good self there spearhead in the 2s the run from the backline in the 1st half that i saw was awesome would take a good side to stop it imo .....as for the rest of the day the as got of to a good start and that was the end result its about time the thunder train learnt how to have a quick start as it set up for the rest of the day ....As we move on the next 3 weeks will really see where the thunder train is heading with uris , mt ronnie and blackwood in the next 3 weeks pinch 1 or 2 more of these games and we will be right in the mix i would think ...bring on the cabbage cutters this week and we will reassess after this week ????

hi gang
firstly apologies to informer for not catching up on saturday i forgot that it was sponsors day so i was preoccupied for a large part of the day while i was networking and sounding out new business opportunities with sponsors of the BRFC.
to the game and i was simply blown away by the fantastic performances of the mighty RAIDERS. played very smart football in the conditions and were coached and lead sensationally all day.
can ensure you all that my early season medal tip eckerman will finish with at least 3 votes because he was head and shoulders best man on the ground and played the perfect captains game.
one thing i must admit i did notice from the birdwood players was alot of free kick milking which i guess is smart footy in the conditions. but found it amusing at one stage when a roosters player went down squealing like a cut pig after bumping into a team mate.

also was a great gesture by the playing group to make their way over to the green shed and salute the raider faithful after the win. must admit had the hairs up on the back of the neck.

cant wait for the clash with lofty this week.

RAIDERS till I DIE!!!
V.

ps what about the mighty tiges gunning for 5 in a row.
