last kick of the day for blacks was in the process of being marked by blacks forward as siren sounded. umpire paid correct decision(1 of the few for the day) that siren had sounded before he controlled it. very lucky escape for the valleys and i must admit blacks would be the best side relegated from div 5 for a very long time if not ever. we always have close games against them with all but 1 game being under a 12 point margin in 6 games.

Good contest at hectorville today unfortunate that it was marred by the worst incident i have ever seen in footy. This is strong statement and unfortunately i have to say that the goal umpire for hectorville clearly cheated today . Our full back punched the ball through for a rushed behind and as i was directly in line with the goal line he made contact with the ball approximately 1m in front of line . What ensued i am still shaking my head about . As our players started to get ready for a kick in and as the hectorville forwards moved to their zone positions the umpire conjured that the defender had reached back behind the line as he touched the ball and signalled a goal. After a breif discussion with the field umpire the goal was awarded. The full back in question turned and called the goal umpire a cheat ( no truer statement i have heard) and the field umpire gave him a red card and then gave hectorville a second kick from the goal line . So well done to hectorville on their hollow hollow victory and every other club beware of this but hopefully he takes my advice and gives goal umpiring away . Its 12:23 and i am still shaking my head at what i saw today .

Wow, that is very ordinary if thats the case!
We had a young kid make some howlers... and twice changed his original decision after being yelled at by defenders. Didn't effect the result but frustrating to say the least. I think it needs to be looked at - goal umpires I know are volunteers who are helping out. But many don't try to get in position to make correct calls, just guess..

Absolute disgrace that guy, had a smug smile on his face after the game. Grrr. Gotta be grounds for field umpire to overturn decision when no Heccies player even disputed that it wasnt clearly punched over the line!! Their supporters were even surprised! From under balcony u could clearly see it was way past line, and from where Custard was standing he was in a better spot than anybody to see! C.H.E.A.T.E.D

I think Heccies know Elizabeth are a better side than them. Dont understand how Brahma didnt beat them, they really aint that good!

I was a long way from the incident but from what i have heard it was the wrong decision. In saying that i know the goal umpire he was filling in because we had no one else and he is not the sort of person to deliberatly cheat i believe he made the decision he thought was right. Sometimes ppl get it wrong. It was not the only wrong decision for the day. Interested to hear what other ppl think of the elizabeth player who was red carded coming back on the ground after the game to abuse the goal umpire further and along with other elizabeth players threaten him.

Completely unacceptable. If the fact that he pursued and threatened the umpire after the game is raised at the tribunal, he should and will have the book thrown at him. All the excuses in the world about bad decisions etc do not justify the actions of the players after the game. One would hope that in retrospect they can look back and see how bad it made themselves and their club look. :?

Was a great game to watch but was tarnished a little by the shennanigans after the siren.

I've seen plenty of bad calls in my time playing amateur footy. Like the point your goal umpire called a goal in the 2nd quarter, clearly sailed over the post through for a point- even the guy who kicked it knew it wasn't a goal. How quickly we forgot that one hey?? Yet you didn't see us crying bout that. At the end of the day it was one decision, there was plenty of other poor umpiring decisions that cost both teams goals throughout the day, but that's what you have to deal with when it comes to footy at this level.

Get over it and get on with it.

one simple thing. we won by a goal and if the elizabeth player didnt give away the 2nd goal from the incident then they would have won. plus they wouldnt of have to played with 17 men on the field for 10mins and lost momentum.

elizabeth had a goal which we thought was a clear point given to them about 5-10mins before the incident which the field umpire had a discussion with the goal umpire before getting all cleared. we got on with it. it comes down to discipline
