Is it mental, physical ?
Is it the gameplan ?

the gameplan, because it doesn't give arguably the best forward lineup in the league a chance to kick goals by playing that short chipping sideways crap

i want to know whether the coach is safe given the list they have as i think it is a top 3 list & they don't look like even making the final 5
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Port to get up in a close one and seal Daniel's fate.

Don't take this as an excuse for the coach, his game plan sucks, but I don't think that the North list is anything like a top 3 list. Take tomorrow's team. With due respect there are at least 8 player out of the 22 who are not league footballers at this stage of their career. None of the 8 would challenge for a position in Central, Glenelg or the Eagles. Even at full strength we are two key defenders short. McIntyre is a good third big defender, he is North's number one key defender, Cunningham is a good mid size defender. He is North's current number two key defender. I don't think we have a third big defender. We also lack crumbers up forward. Younie has lost a yard and is not the danger up forward he used to be.

..... not mention a key forward who kicks goals and a midfielder who hurts you by winning hard ball possessions forward of centre and kicking goals - apart from all this it is a good list :?

I'd argue that our forward-line is no way the best in the league (and our list is surely not in the top 3 in the comp).

The last North vs Port game earlier in the year was one of the worst games of SANFL I've ever seen. Hopefully tomorrow is a little better.

What to say? Well played North. Better skills and good finishing in pretty tough conditions won the game.

I have never seen a more disgraceful, blatant cheat of an umpire than what I witnessed today. It began at the end of the first and reached fever pitch throughout the second. The patch of play on the eastern wing where Mieklejohn (from memory) had his ankle held while trying to get up with the ball in full view of the umpire, only to be balled up was the final straw. I thought a Magpies fan was going to jump the fence and rip his head off.

To follow up, the marking contest after the kick into NA's forward line had a free kick plucked from nowhere, followed by a 25m penalty and goal. There were 4 goals resulting directly from blatant umpire cheating in the first half.

Port's poor skills and decision making compounded the umpires cheating and it was game over early in the 3rd realistically.

Once again, Port had a crack until the end, but the final scoreboard probably flattered Port.

Allen, Younie and Alleway are bloody good players. Ackland has got worse

Slattery was good for Port, as was Kirkwood & Wanganeen. Lycett & Heath were serviceable.
