The Sharp are back!

Postby Wedgie » Thu Jul 08, 2010 1:46 pm

Just saw it in today's Herald Sun, thinking of going to Melbourne for it as I loved The Sharp, saw some great gigs at Lennies in the 90s.

Description
Break out the black skivvies, people .... The Sharp are back and will be playing their reunion show at Sandbelt Live on Friday, July 30th, with special guest Things of Stone & Wood's Greg Arnold.

The seminal nineties three-piece were already a live favourite when they were embraced by Melbourne's tastemaker radio 3RRR and PBS, and when Triple J jumped on board, along came a major label deal and The Sharp's signing to Warner Music saw them catapult to household name status, with ARIA nominations, magazine covers and appearances on just about every television and radio show in the country.

Now fifteen years later (and thanks to some persistent pestering from fans) The Sharp are back and sounding better than ever. Ably supported by Things of Stone and Wood front man Greg Arnold this promises to be the ultimate 90's reunion gig!

Playing all their hits plus some rockin' covers (Violent Femmes, Sex Pistols, Kiss) The Sharp at Sandbelt is not to be missed!!!

Perhaps distinguished fans such as FW de Clerk, Jeff Kennett, Imran Khan, Bruce McAvaney, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jackson could attend.
I only wish the late Yasar Arafat could have been here to see this.

Thanks heaps for the info mate, was spewing the Melbourne gig didn't tie in with a Cats game and then I realised it tied in with a Wallabies game in Melbourne but they were on at the same time so I was in a quandy.
Will save some pennies by just going to Norwood now, can't wait!
Ironically North play Norwood at the parade the following day, I think I'll just sleep out the front!
Thanks again ca! :D
