Bit far fetched that I reckon FS wouldn't be available for state selection then, how many games he plays through the season depends on redbacks fixtures and workload but my mail tells me he will potentially skipper the proud northern club this coming season

BF, the board and the new cricket director must address this quickly!

what if this was an elaborate plan by para hills to announce sleepy as coach, knowing that ttg would sack him , then securing his services as full time coach of the phcc

i like the conspiracy theory az, who knows what the next move will b. i am sue fs will kepp us up to date, bit like a soapie really. now does anyone know where our new interstate recruits r going to end up, seems blizzard will gp to kensi with maxie anyone got any news. any other moves in the grade ranks other than cronin from nd to ttg

No club will sack a coach before they know the full facts, apparently he is providing assitance at PH as directed by SACA, PH have made it sound like he is head coach, he may only go up there every couple of weeks and do some skill work with them!

You have lost me there FS..
Why would the SACA direct him to do this to an individual A2 ATCA club...???
That seems most unusual to say the least !!!

This is on the TTGDCC website

"Thursday 24th June 2010 - Peter Sleep

Peter Sleep has affirmed his commitment to the Tea Tree Gully District Cricket club and looks forward to on field success in the next two years."

Seems to be fairly clear.

May have some involvement with Para Hills but wouldn't be too much.

so the bottom line is someone has embellished the truth and it seems to be para hills?????????????????????? cannot understand why bailey would move to glenelg, surely not sick of cece and thompson taking too many wickets and not getting a bowl, would be good pick up though now that obrien seems entrenched as saca no 1 spinner, will play a lot of grade cricket

Think you will find Cullen Bailey has been offered the captaincy at Glenelg.

Dont know how the other players will feel having a new player come straight in as captain.

Does not say much for rest of the players at the Bay!

u are not far off the mark fs, pretty sure that a fair percentage of saca contracted players have no interest in grade cricket and see it as a chore to nfront up for theirn grade club. Word is only small percentage of squad want to play. lucky jake loves nthe club and will play whenever they let him. you have to remember as well choco is 30 plus, if he players all state games that is 50 days of cricket in 4 and 1 day games, then the 20/20 circus in january, plus the pre season 20/20, possibly a game against poms, big season and he must look after body now after injury reavaged year last year. in early days he was big grade cricket supporter, passionate about his club, probably poor example. he must now think of his future and if that means no grade, i think as cricket cmmunity we should probably support that. interesting whether his not playing for nd in grand final last year might have cost them a win?????????????????????

We are perhaps lucky at the Eagles that our three State reps are all born and bred South Aussies and keen to play. :D

bulldog, not sure i agree with you there. can't argue smith / george for sure, however u look at fergies stats for prospct and wt the last 5 years and i am sure they would not support your argument. plus if he regains form, i am sure he will play for aus again and wt will only see him at your end of season presentation night.

Ferg is certainly not like that. Is often down the club in his own time - even after knee surgery.

Would not blame any state players wanting to have a break during the cricket season and missing some Grade cricket if the circumstances are right, but they can also use Grade cricket to get some form and just enjoy playing in a less pressured environment.

Have to second Aerie's comments re Ferg. Not only was he at many Eagles games during his rehab from his knee injury, he has also been appointed captain of the club.
Cheers

Hi Bulls,
Am not fully in the know at the club but, to the best of my knowledge:
Wes hopes to be available from midseason, to work with one of the lower grades. Originally, he had retired but now is keen to be involved again.
Both Brad and Carl are playing, as far as I know.
Hassy is definitely going on, but has stepped down from the captaincy. Trent Kelly will captain when Ferg is unavailable. Bourney is going on once again (the man is a legend) but is likely to only make himself available for the lower grades. The key addition this year will be Rohan Bock who is back from overseas.
There will be a change of A grade scorer.
Cheers
