Firstly, as I've already said earlier, it was my decision to go to the more populated end of Woodville as the atmosphere at the other end of Woodville is pretty flat. In hindsight, my bad and it won't be happening again.
There was plenty of banter going on between cheersquads and other members of the crowd through the whole day but the only heated argument was between us and weslo around half time as we were being threatened with eviction because we were continuing on with the banter.
I was questioning them as to why there was a problem with this when I've seen many worse things happen without punishment. They had no answer to this besides continually threatening anyone who was having a go at them with eviction.
The banter continued in the 3rd quarter and still no real issue.
In the last the Eagles cheersquad moved to the other end and we stayed where we were. 4-5 Eagles players parked themselves around 5m away from us, none of them saying a word except for Treeby. When the Eagles kicked the sealer Treeby turned to the cheersquad and said exactly what csbowes mentioned earlier in the thread which was (as he grabbed his crotch) "suck on my n-ts you c---s, take a look at the f---ing scoreboard.
I proceeded to approach weslo, who were 2m away from the Eagles players to ask them why that is tolerated when we were threatened with eviction for less. They proceeded to tell me they heard nothing (remember, they were 2m away from Treeby) which inflamed the situation more. All the while Treeby and some other cheersquad members continued with the verbals.
Things were way to close and it no-one really threw a first punch, it kind of just momentarily exploded with some push and shove between some cheersquad members and Treeby and some Eagles fans. More cheersquad members approached the fraca, including myself to try and break it up but I can see that this would have been quite scary for Treeby as he wouldn't have known some of us only wanted to break it up. He ran back towards the grandstands and yes he was chased.
The stupid part about this is when Treeby saw the 2 burley fellas that you see in the photos were going to back him up, he stopped and faced his pursuers. This is where the main problem started and once again I tried to break it up. I copped a whack in the nose, no idea if it was an Eagles fan or a Sturt fan and I don't really care. It was over pretty quickly from there. Little spotfires broke out after that but nothing major.
If I can think of anything else I'll post it as soon as I can.

Just wanted confirmation Chappy, the Gowans or Central supporters weren't involved. ;)

Beyond my comprehension why a current league player, who are normally pretty decent and disciplined individuals as a rule, would indulge in alleged shameful behaviour, particularly so publicly.

There was the rather strange sight of a young guy in a West Adelaide tracksuit who seemed to want to get involved.

Not excusing his behaviour but this is the least stupid part of the whole thing. Of course you will run if its 1 onto 5 (or whatever it was) and turn around if you get some back up.

You don't think it would have been wise to continue on his way and let the burley blokes sort it out for him? Read the whole thing. The stupid part is actually that he started mouthing off again.

No, the stupid part is anyone taking football, a family sport, or any sport for that matter, so seriously

This is a social issue more than anything else.

Fair call ML. It should never come to this and the whole situation smacks of stupidity from all parties so maybe my choice of words wasn't as it should be.
My apologies for that.
Perhaps it would have been better for me to say "I was shocked when he stopped, turned around and started again".

Impossible. They were all either behind a grassy knoll or making plans to fake a moon landing at the time. ;)

Sorry folks. Play on.

Heard bits and pieces Voice, but nothing as yet, soon to have Darren Chandler on concerning the whole incident. My guess would be after 6pm.

Pretty open shut case. Banter going all day Sturt fans decided to get physical after the winning goal was scored. Spat the dummy basically.
Im sure if Sturt won all the Sturt fans would have shook Treeby's hand and wished him luck for the rest of the season,. NOT!!!!

Voice. If your boys cant handle "look at the scoreboard" after losing a game. And doggies are winning this weekend by five goals at three quarter time. Id suggest you and the rest of the CS leave. Your not going to like we what we have ready for you.

Sturt fans you guys are unbelievable.
