Andy Collins most recent comments toward the AFL and it's assistance (or lack thereof) toward developing grassroots footy were a breath of fresh air

Absolutely! Mores the pity the hierachy of the BIG leagues don't take any notice of the comment, it's a bit below them no doubt.

Great news for the club with all the signings, not just Collins. Kym Russell has done a fantastic job at the club and should be highly congratulated. From a $645 000 loss to a profit in two years. Hopefully the club can play finals and keep moving forward.

If West miss the final this year has Collins deserved to be re-appointed considering he failed on his 3 year plan to make the finals and the fact they haven't improved ladder position wise from last year.

I'm sorry -- I did not realise this season ended last week -- finals positions still up for grabs are they not?

Yes he does. Already won more games than last year with 6 games to go. If we can get a good ruckman for next year, the team will take a huge step forward next year with the current playing group. Ronaldson leaving after only a few games has really hurt.

Of course they are, and in fact i would much rather see West in the finals than Sturt just at the start of this season there was alot of West supporters on here saying they MUST make the finals as a minimal requirement.

Serious question IF West dont make the finals will this be considered a successful season as you have won more games than last season?

Our league team has already won more than last year.

Our playing list just gets stronger.

Our Reserves will play finals for the first time for a fair while.

Our Under 18's are top 2 or 3.

Our crowds are up hugely.

Our major sponsors have re-signed for 3 years.

The club is united and the players are giving everything they have.

It's a no-brainer, regardless of what happens in the last 6 games and finals.

Does this prove the theory correct that Doug may have been holding the club back???

I'd be aiming to be good, very good, and not be happy being less crap than we were. ;)

this leads me to would you have been happier to win less games than last season but made the finals or win more games and possibly not make the finals

The future ( $$$ ) is looking brighter at Alberton all the time and anyone who has seen the Magpies this year can see the on field is heading in the right direction too, anyway, back on topic.

I think it is a good appointment as highlighted by R&B's positive comments above. Long way to go though, long long way to go.
