I'm 337 down, with Tippet, Dangerfield & Trengove to play, whilst the opposition has Watts only.
Had I not missed out on Maxwell, Murphy & Chapman (no cover), I may well be saluting strongly.... :(

ROUND 10

Results
Year of the Tiger 1611 Worst 1019
Cork in the Ocean 2074 Boonga 2060
lodge lads '10' 2032 Punky 1920
Toolman 1899 Strawbs 1506
Straycat Strut 2237 Lioneater 1878
Marion ManBearPigs 2089 pafc 2055
Onegameatatimers 2004 Pigeon 1775
Carp Diem 2208 Brownys 2038

Cork in the Ocean has defended their place atop the Division III ladder with the latest challenger Boongas Bulldogs put back in their kennell courtesy of a 14 point victory. Most of the other top sides cashed in as those two smashed the hell out of each other although the ManBearPigs almost made a meal out of it against pafc who are out of the eight. The teams in the middle of the ladder stumbled this week and even though there are no changes to the ladder the door has opened slightly for Year of the Tiger and Carp Team and that's about the first nice thing I've written about them all season.

Division III Round 11

Year of the Tiger vs Cork in the Ocean
Boongas Bulldogs vs TheWorstThereIs
Punk Roosters vs Strawbsberries
Toolman vs lodge lads '10'
Lioneaters vs pafc1870
Marion ManBearPigs vs Straycat Strut
Onegameatatimers vs Brownys Boys
Carpe Diem vs Pigeon Stinge

22 minutes till lockout. How long did you say??

The MarionManBearPigs better bring the milky bar kid along for the ride if he expects to waddle on past my hungry Straycats in the Division III match of the round. The Straycats have been starting to strut in this division after spending most of the first half of the year sneaking over the line against bottom eight sides. We're back baby and a win is on the cards this week. GET ON.

Another key clash in this divvy is the match between Toolman and lodge lads who both have an eye on the top four and as such should be barracking for the Strays this week. The winner here is in a very good spot to challenge for the double chance and I reckon that team might be the lads.

Lioneaters started like a bull out of a gate but lately they've been limping along like...er..the Lions. If Andy is fair dinkum he must beat pafc1870 who with a name like that is hardly finals material. I'm on the Lioneaters here but pafc won't be too far away in this one. This is one of those rare weeks that I'm backing the Carp and Browny's Boys will stay in it for another week by racking up a win as well.

The other matches will be absolute destroyations by Cork, Boongas and Punk Roosters which means bye bye Year of the Tiger.

ROUND 11

Results

Year of the Tiger 1,905 def by 2,375 Cork in the Ocean
Boongas Bulldogs 2,174 def 1,343 TheWorstThereIs
Punk Roosters 2,172 def 1,738 Strawbsberries
Toolman 2,112 def by 2,192 lodge lads '10'
Lioneaters 1,840 def 1,734 pafc1870
Marion ManBearPigs 2,180 def by 2,252 Straycat Strut
Onegameatatimers 1,772 def by 2,171 Brownys Boys
Carpe Diem 1,966 def by 2,029 Pigeon Stinge

The ManBearPigs from Marion way are out of the top four after falling to the Strutties and the lads are now lodged in there instead after squeezing by the Toolman. Corky and Boonga recorded regulation wins which saw the top three sides sneak away a little bit.

Lioneaters managed to put away pafc1870 to stay in the eight but they have a fight on their hands courtesy of Browny's Boys who have a healthy percentage and is only one win behind. Pigeon Stinge treated Carp like a statue and laid a deposit on them which sees the end of Carp's dream for 2010. Normally towards the end of the season there is some interest in who is going to be relegated but Strawbs and the Worsties look to have that dubious honour under lock and key.

Division III Round 12

Year of the Tiger vs Pigeon Stinge
Boongas Bulldogs vs Brownys Boys
Punk Roosters vs Straycat Strut
Toolman vs pafc1870
Lioneaters vs lodge lads '10'
Marion ManBearPigs vs Strawbsberries
Onegameatatimers vs TheWorstThereIs
Carpe Diem vs Cork in the Ocean

It looks like a really 'bully' round in Division III with only two matches involving two top eight sides. My Strutties take on Punk Roosters in the 'match of the round' but I'm quite confident a weakened Straycat can still make a feather duster out of those roosters but it will be a close game I think. Lioneaters will have their top eight credentials put to the test when they take on the the boys from the lodge and frankly I don't reckon he'll get near em and the door to the top eight will be wide open as result.

One team who won't be able to walk through that open door is Browny's Boys. Although their form appears to be slowly improving they are no show of defeating the mighty Boongas Bulldogs who have only lost two matches all season. Browny's Boys will just have to wait. I'm really liking the look of Toolman's trades this week and he could be a bottom half of the eight threat to the premiership and shouldn't have any trouble with pafc1870.

While bottom eight sides Year of the Tiger and Onegameatatimers can rack up a rare win this week, you won't be able to say that about Carp and Strawbs who will get smashed by top eight opposition in classic 'bully' fixtures. These games could get ugly!

It would appear, that despite the Punk Roosters losing Goddard (C) without cover, the Roosters have in fact made the the Straycats lose their strut!!

Disappointing last match (Carlton v Western Bulldogs). Was only trailing by eight going into this game, until Eddie Betts decided to have a non-match with a 40. Well done to Cork with the win though.

ROUND 12

Results

Year of the Tiger 1,604 def by 2,249 Pigeon Stinge
Boongas Bulldogs 2,165 def 2,119 Brownys Boys

Lioneaters 1,977 def by 2,068 lodge lads '10'

Onegameatatimers 1,830 def 1,230 TheWorstThereIs
Carpe Diem 1,937 def by 2,050 Cork in the Ocean

After bragging endlessly about how I had this flag one I was promptly dusted off by the Punk Roosters who showed they aren't feather dusters but the genuine Punky article. The other all top eight game went to script with the lodgeys home and hosed against an improved Lioneaters who retained their seat but at a reduced majority.

Corky nearly bottled it against Carp and Toolman fixed up pafc1870 as Onegamers and MarionPigs got the job done against the league cripples. Browny's Boys nearly pulled off a shock win against Boongas Bulldogs so not too happy with the way three of those matches turned out DOH. Perhaps the most eyebrow raising result was the scoring of Pigeon Stinge who cleaned up Year of the Tiger by nearly 650 points. Where has that form been all season?
