Was the free parking with security a successful strategy or not?
I note the crowd was the 2nd lowest at Hamra for the season but live on TV and a bit of rain would have kept some home.

Saturday's loss to Central exposed the quarter to quarter inconsistency that
has plagued us over the last month. We have been getting by with one very
good quarter of football and interspersing it with some mediocre stuff. Being
mediocre is not acceptable and the players and coaches know it.
The most obvious thing which came out of Sunday Morning's senior
player review which was attended by every senior player was how glaring
the difference was between our best and our worst football on the day. The
second quarter was full of purpose, skill and strong defensive action and our
fourth quarter lacked all of these aspects. The key, as identified by the
players is to provide that second quarter effort for much longer periods of the
game.

Thank you to our incredible supporters who made the trip to Hamra Homes
Oval. You deserve better. There is another trip South this week when we
know we have to provide a far more consistent four quarter performance.

Also, 'twas good to see Adelaide's Number 1 DJ, RMAC, at Elizabeth Oval on Saturday.

No idea. When I got to the Oval it was shut

Central too good....again.

Thanks to Centurion for the feed, and a hello to Royal City and the other Doggie blokes I met. Top blokes.

Being on TV and some inclement weather wouldn't have helped. The other factor for both Central and South is the distance factor. Many people who live closer to the city simply don't like to drive 1/2 an hour. We tend to find not many opposition supporters make the trek. How much of that is attributed to the continued bleating of high profile people about issues as well is hard to guage. But I can be pretty sure no Glenelg fan decided to watch the game because Cornesy goes on about violence at HHO.

As for the club welcoming supporters, I can't think of how the club could realistically be more welcoming to it's supporters and members. We might not appear to need the fans to generate money, but the club doesn't neglect it's fans from my perspective.

Was that another public apology? Gee those things are fashionable. I'm not sure I like them or not. If Centrals did one I'd be worried they felt it was enough action when all I care about is the result on the ground changing. I'd probably lean towards making the players feel the only time they can respond to the challenge and answer the critics is in the next 2 hours on the ground.

The old Cornesy chestnut hey? Was that 4 or 5 years ago he said that?

Suggest Kris focuses on the fans that seem to turn up GF day but not during the season, not opposition fans...

Well, gee, if it's that simple, why aren't all the clubs who've played in grand finals over the past decade getting 20 to 30k to games each week???

I may have this out of context Dutchy. But Cornes (tosser) said it about 5 days ago, re encouraging supporters not to travel to see first play second in the SANFL.

OK didnt hear that...dunno why he would say that.

Rowey almost had a Gummy Bear, he had a loing hard look into the bag but politely declined :)

DW - Just think the focus is wrong, getting less than 2k of CDFC fans to a home game would have to be dissappointing wouldnt it?

It is, no doubt.
I just thought your comment didn't fit the argument.

However, as stated - rain, live coverage and distance for Glenelg supporters would have made it a lot easier to stay home.

As for Cornesey, do SANFL supporters, whatever their colours, really listen to him?

Glad you've got a coach that is on the cutting edge of tactics (from his weekly report).... ;)

Andy Collins wrote:
Round 14 v Norwood
In the last three weeks we have scored a total of 22 goals. 6 -10 for a loss against Centrals, 10-8 for a win against the Eagles and then 6-8 goals for a loss against Norwood.

All three games have been played in good conditions, yet we are having great concerns about getting the ball forward with any authority. Our inside 50’s are too low with our statistics indicating too many turnovers between the arcs. The quality of our kicking to our forwards needs to be smarter and we need hard running players who want to get forward and kick goals.

....

Andrew Rogers (Assistant Coach ) said to the players that the experience of pressured games will make them stronger in the long run in regards to better decisions and improved skills. We need to kick more goals, we want to kick more goals and I will make sure they get that message again this week on the track.

Better decisions combining with skills and hard running will give us the outcome we want. Port at Alberton will be a great challenge.

Based on that you need to be smarter, work harder and kick more goals....

Revolutionary...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes, nearly broke down the Rowey love/hate relationship with Central. He looked, he paused, then he laughed. 3 kgs of Gummi Bears was a tad overwhelming. too many colours.

Cornesy has said it several times in the last 4-5 years, including once again in the lead up. Perhaps a lot of people don't pay any attention to him but some would. Whether that equates to less people travelling to HHO is hard to say but when you keep hearing someone of as high a profile as that saying there's a problem it eventually gets through to some people, rightly or wrongly.

Yeah I heard him mention it last week, albeit briefly .. Sounded as though he was vaguely referring to some past incident, but he did still point the bone at Dogs fans.
