ADELAIDE HAWK

My turn to cheat I looked at the Brett Lee career which I have
put the stats up in the Brett Lee thread.
You almost completely fooled me

In a period I have mentioned 2005-2006 he is just a bowler

You cant use the excuse that Mcgrath + Warne have pinched all the wickets
during Lees career.
Gillespie played in the same teams as Lee and finished with 259 wickets at 26-08
Clark has about 42 odd wickets at about 19
With Mcgrath + Warne doing a lot of damage it should mean Lee is not bowling
at teams who are on top of the attack.

AH you had good points about flatter pitches and per test hes up with some other good
bowlers and about wides and no balls in the bowlers totals
BUT
Mcgrath/Gillespie/Clark all had the same instances factored into thier superior averages.

If Brett Lee is going to be the spearhead post McGrath, then Australia is going to struggle.

Big time.

Agree. The emergence of Clark has been timely.

Disagree provided Lee uses the tactics we saw yesterday; he pitches it up and lets the ball swing either conventionally or via reverse...

When he pitches it short on the bouncy tracks (Perth and Brisbane) he looks carp and gets carted. he pitches it up like yesterday and the last day at Adelaide who knocks batsmen over regularly. Llike most fast bowlers though, he is dumb as F*ck so hopefully the penny has dropped finally and as his speed natuarally decreases he becomes a more thinking bowler and uses his natural swing to gets batsmen out and balls don't swing when the ball is banged into the pitch short of a length......

145 km/h GBS gun barrel stratight sh!t wont worry most test batsmen, 145 km/h hooping balls will get wickets......

More than happy with an attack based around Lee Clark Johnson/Tait/Hilfenhaus.....

The good thing about the last three is that if Lee wants to bowl short carp we have ready made replacements to cover him when he gets dropped

I don't know if you heard Fleming yesterday MAL on the ABC, but Flem quoted Paul Rieffel who umpired Hilfenhaus last week against WA, In Reiffel's opinion vis-a-vis Hilfenhauses readiness to play test cricket, "He's ready now"....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Lee will be a luxury Australia can ill-afford post-McGrath/Warne.

Yes Tassie my boy Hilfenhaus is a good bowler, is good enough to be considered
at test level but good enough to be a front line bowler ?...might be

The honeymoon is over when Warnnnnnney + Ooh Ahh retire
IT will be a big test for Lee + Clark as they will have to assume the
responsibilty instead of hiding behind the two great bowlers.
I think Clark will suffer more as his average will no doubt climb well above the
19 average he has.
Lee will be unaffected because he will still be a 30-35 per wicket bowler.

The bowlers who consistently bowl at numbers 8-9-10-11 will end up with
the better bowling figures now that Warrrrrrney will retire [Macgills wickets ?]
