Going into this game I was hoping for a win but really just wanted to see Sturt play 4 quarters of competitive footy, after all we basically have to start from scratch and get some form and confidence back into the team, that we got so close and lost really hurts as the points are so important at the moment. We've now had 2 very competitive games in a row against very good teams, ending with 1 win and 1 loss. Hopefully we can continue with the same attitude and make a determined push for a finals berth. Sounds like a good game, wish I could've seen it. Well done to all that went.

Waiting for the video review hoping a nice little incident is missed like it was by the umpies...

Was that Cane's swipe at former tiger Hinge? Any news on that front?

Caught the end of the reserves game from over in the NE pocket (as far away from snout's louts) and I thought it was a horrible decision. Sturt bloke given about 0.1 of a second to dispose of it in a pack at the death of the game. Anyone else get a look at it?

Crowd was a fraction disappointing, went along hoping they might get 8-10000. Would have been a super atmosphers at the end if that was true.

Then the Sturt blokes you know are idiots. It would have been nice to see if their mob had the mettle to level the scores from 3 goals down without benefiting from some surreal decisions. The right team won.

I hope you're kidding. Many of the decisions on the day were woeful. When Sturt came back in the last term the umpires gave Glenelg four consecutive frees to move the ball from defence to attack. That's just one example, but Bayman had it dead right, there were poor decisions against both sides. Hinge was caught holding the ball late in the term, but the umpires failed to pay it, allowing Sturt an opportunity to move into the forward 50. Poor decisions at an important time.

To ask the mettle question, you leave yourself open... 4 from 19 clearly shows one team has a mettle problem when it counts.

GFs Stampy

If Sturt had shown more mettle in 82 and 88 it wouldn't be so bad though..... :oops: ;)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah I say the same about everyone in 1998... giving Port a free ride to the GF instead of making them earn it...

Just like Sturt never won 10 consecutive wooden spoons. :lol:

Notice the symbolism of the spoon being made of wood, not mettle (sic)...

Not sure we ever reached the milestone of 56 consecutive losses though Pseudo. ;)

Is there a table somewhere I can see the current standings using this criteria? :D

From what I saw Sturt player had a chance to handball but tried to break through instead and got tackled so it was a fair enough decision. Great kick under pressure by the young fella.

There was a couple other decisons similar to this one in the last 10 minutes.

Neither Glenelg or Sturt are the sides or clubs they were last year.
Centrals are and Norwood has surpassed both Glenelg and Sturt.
North = backwards
South = nothing changes
West = ditto
Eagles = honest under duress
Port = slight improvment if not only for decent coach and giving juniors a go
