Depends how you look at the question. One could argue over the past decade Chambers would win hands down.

I know I may be biased, but Ferguson now be. Rarely ever beaten. Courgeous. Plays forward and defensive roles. Am I out of line?

You can't be serious Dutchy? Name another player in the league that plays first ruck and then rests at CHF? Also he has rested at CHB in two games as well rucked! If it wasn't for him most weeks we would have been worse than we presently are and that is saying something!

I think Big Phil has got his list mostly spot on.

The only one I would question is Jeremy Johncock. I've never really ever seen him do anything and from what I read in the papers he doesn't seem to contribute much on the scoreboard either.

If ruckman are inlcuded in the KPP list then I would add Cockshell and McKenna to the Panthers list and Buckets, Giles, Cranston, Mieklejohn etc etc...

I know the 2 boys mentioned above do play KPP for the Panthers but mainly in the ruck I guess hence the reason they did not come into my calculations...

I agree doggies but I just chose not to include AFL listed players as I mentioned with Cloke at the Magpies...

Yeah, I thought about that one for a while and was weighing up Herring v Johncock. Just tipped the scales in front of Johncock because Herring has been dropped a few times.

He's certainly improved in front of the big sticks thanks to some one on one training with Mr Oatey but in general field play, as we saw yesterday, his drop of the ball is not good and lets him down too often I reckon.

He's certainly amongst the better KPP players in the league but for mine, Mr Kirkby (Ruory that is) is well ahead of him at this point in time IMHO.

Rucks aren't key position. Totally different. The ruckman is part of the midfield, key position are the basis of the forward line or defense.

Never rated Alleway. He's rarely hurt the dogs. Grima can win the ball well, but disposal a worry. Accuracy goalkicking wise might be good, but that only tells part of the story. Chambers devastating with a good midfield supply, but doesn't win his own ball. Warren might be in the class, but who knows with the terrible supply he gets? Most of his goals are hard earned. Schell is diminished with injury and age now. Ferguson I'd like to see be effective as a defender in a winning side. The best defender in a bad side often looks good, because the ball spends so much time there. Norwood, Port and the Eagles I'm afraid I don't really rate the non AFL listed blokes.

Best in the comp when fit is Daniel Havelberg. Forward or back, as strong and safe a mark as there is and disposal is first class.

Damon White deserves a mention for not getting a mention. On talent is up there, but output well below par. A guy with that size, mobility and power should be a match winner.

Best in the medical room maybe? Playing one break match match in your career doesn't qualify him as the best in the comp IMO. The remainder of the time he has played a "small" part in a winning dynasty but the bulk of his career so far has been spent in the medical room.

Well Graham, I'd like to see Havelberg be effective as a forward in a losing side. The best forward in a good side often looks good, because the ball spends so much time there.
