Manou and Elliott should never play for the state again, Ferguson can go back to district cricket, and Cosgrove is very close to joining him. R Harris showed that one good hit doesn't make you a star.

From tonights match, the only players who should play next match are Boof, Dizzy, D Harris, R Harris, Cosgrove and Cullen. The others can have the rest of the season off.

The Redbacks are fast becoming an embarrassment to the state.

This is not a great post by our Magpie friend. Victoria are in redhot form and compared with NSW's 'efforts' the Redbacks weren't all that bad.
As someone who was at the game, i thought it was a pretty good summary

And the batsmen are batting like they know there is no depth in SA Grade Cricket. Wasn't having too much of a crack at Dizzy, but Boof saying there wasn't too much to hit is laughable. Can't hit it too far if all you to is little late cuts and paddles around the corner off the spinners. Funny how he started scoring more runs when he started swinging the bat and hitting through the line of the ball in the last couple of overs.

Anyone who was at the game saw they we didn't even look like trying to get the runs on the last 20 or so overs. Losing Borgas didn't help, but with his performances in one dayers this year hes lucky to even be in the team (ave of 17).

Dizzy's bowling, although unrewarded with wickets was supberb.
To lose Borgas during the 1st innings was bad luck, as Giffo said at the time of his injury, it's about time the rules relating to (the replacement of) players injured during a game were reviewed, it is a far bigger penalty to the side batting 2nd to lose a batsman to injury while fielding than it is to the side batting 1st.
Harris & Cosgrove's dissmissals in particullar were disapointing, they both had the chance to go on and make big scores.
Elliott & Manou...mmmmm, go back to grade cricket and get some form, Manou was great with the gloves, but to say both are struggling with the bat would be an understatement.
The batting in the last 20 or so overs was the biggest dissapointment, I would have rather seen them all out with 5 overs to go, having a crack at the total, rather than the lack lustre, meander that looked nothing more than an attempt too keep personal batting averages intact. If you have a real crack, you won't die wondering.

When Lee has a good series I will sing his praises.
His record v England in the last 2 series is piss poor.

White is performing in domestic cricket. Lee isn't bowling his best currently but he is also playing a higher standard. White is a good one day cricketer for sure but he will never be a good Test cricketer.

White performing in domestic cricket = YES
Lee in a higher standard = YES
Lee isint bowling his best currently = YES
White s a good o/d cricketer = YES
White will never be a good test cricketer = ?

Good post
PS I have not included Whites potential as a test cricketer, only as o /d player in discussions.

White must be picked, what he does in International o/d games is not a point as well.

I don't mean that bullshit super sub rule but a realistic "injured player" repalcement policy. with such a weak state side and no depth in Grade, is it time to revisit the "there's too many teams" argument and have a 6 team "super league" with two grade clus aligned to each super leauge side.

I don't think you can have a go at boof for his performance; the Vic bowlers gave nothing away, Moss in particular. As someone said, he was probably batting with a sore wrist and the increase in run rate at the end was because White put on a bowler who hadn't bowled yet, the game already won. If boof had had a swing and got out, we would have had Cullen + Dizzy in with only Putland to come.

But we would have had a chance of winning.

Exactly right. Better to lose trying to win that lose trying to play out overs.
