Surely a bloke can't be knocked for having a crack at a higher
level of footy regardless of the effort or money the local club has put in.
Pretty selfish by the local club to stand in his way.

I can understand if berri where very disapointed. Sounds like they have invested a fair bit into him, its not just the huge dollars he gets per game but sounds like they had to pay out his contract at Kaniva, got him a pretty decent job locally, housing etc...I remember him saying in a interview before the season started were he said that he was here to give 100% for berri, how he wanted to be a real club man etc, doesn't sound like he really meant any of it. If I was Berri I would not be that happy!

he has already tried, played at Glenelg ressies in 2007 2008 i think and then went to be a player/coach at Kaniva for huge $$$ wasn't a star then so i can't see much changing. i am sure he will be back at Berri sooner rather than later

Interesting comment in the Centrals v West match review:

Didn't see myself but spoke to 5-6 different people who all sit at different spots at the ground and they all said he played well.

He is only playing for the Dogs when Berri have a bye or association game as they did today.

Jason Sutherland had:

12 possessions
1 goal
4 marks (2 very strong overhead pack marks)
33 hitouts

He certainly showed some promise in the ball ups, getting his hand on it first on most occasionss. 'Pumpa' did look like he was lacking the fitness level, even for reserves, at present but I reckon he did enough for the club to be keen to have another look at him.

Talking some Dogs officials, if they see enough in him, they will ask him to come down full time for the Dogs, it's then up to him to play in the 2's until the opportunity may come up or keep playing for Berri on some reasonably good coin, from what I'm lead to believe.

Apparently not on that great of coin, him and five other mates went up there together, all five blokes equally split the average between them. There main benifit is the perks the club gives them but not cash, more like drinks etc.

Didn't see him get up up a gallop today. Can't believe you can play footy, collect some cash and walk around at the same time!

Dunno if he likes going up against the big fellas.
Looked like he was absolutely sh#tting himself when he lined up against the Full Forward from Kowree Naracoorte.

Just thought I'd wish all involved in the Barmera-Monash Football Club best of luck for tomorrow.
There is no doubt that it will be tough to be out there and the heart will be heavy.
However, by being there and wearing the colours, you will be doing the spirit of Corey justice.
Good luck.

Berri up by 162 points today. Dave Hankin kicked a lazy 8 goals. Good effort for the smallest bloke on the ground.

I was a bit disappointed with that after he had 5 at quarter time. :D
