As in the ex Adelaide United player? He was a handy footballer as well wasnt he at Centrals?

find this hard to believe that gums have signed him but was a gun footballer dont think he has played footy since his centrals days this would have been 6 or 7 years ago

Will be suiting up next week as far as I know..... so believe it !!

Itll be interesting to see how rusty the guy is after all those years with the round ball but he WAS a gun back a number of years. Will add some much needed pace and fitness into the side one would imagine.

I guess he went as far with soccer as he could and made a decent fist of it especially with Adelaide United MK1, but now after not seeing much action with the Fury maybe he just wants to have a kick with us at Gum which is a good thing as far as we're concerned.

Rowsell is definatly not playing for the remainder of the year. Going to the USA and south America on a surfing safari before working there for a while

Very good player, ex South junior. Finally takin his football a bit more seriously, and proving it like you said, with bog performances. Half back flanker/wing with silky skills.

I have watched him through the Junior’s and I believe him to be in the top 1 % at that level. I have been expecting more as he has aged and expected more or in papers. Fantastic if he is now pushing for his best.

Not a bad team you've made there although I reckon sam cranna is a bit stiff not to be rucking and Lachlan fleet would probably be a better option for forward pocket IMO

Sam Cranna a bit stiff  Jacques IS the best Ruckman in that comp, while Nicholson isn't too far behind. Cranna is way off those two. The team looks pretty good, and he's picked 4 of the Top 6 leading goalkickers in it, which leaves no room for Fleet. Brett James at full fitness should be a walk in.

Just as well TV have a side, surely 8 from there and 6 from Kersbrook is a bit of overkill! No wonder the 2 teams keep on smashing the opposition.

Only 4 from Kersbrook last time I counted. His 8 from TV is pretty well spot on and wouldn't get much of an argument from many Hills Country followers.

Must be a good side with only 1 Kangarilla player in it. Although that little Wakefield fella and Thorpe have been carrying that mob for years.

Greetings all. I dont usually post on the country site but central is about as exciting as SBS world news ATM.
What classifies a local, local to the team or league? (Gardner is Kersbrooke (formally Onkas) and Cooper is TV (formally Onkas and Mt Lofty))

I would say the criteria for a local is they played juniors at the club or lives in the town and was not paid at least their first year.

Cooper lives at Mount Torrens as well doesn't he. Even if he is getting cash , you would still class him as local.

Halfway through the year now!
Anyone picking an upset for the Courier Cup this weekend? I would say Torrens Valley to beat Echunga by around 5 Goals.
Meadows to get over Gumeracha at home.
Maccy to just beat Kangy.

And the rest will be blow outs.
