I thought the HFL made it pretty clear a couple of months ago. There's a points system in place covering A/B/17's and 15's. The club that finishes round 18 with the least points will be relegated providing Torrens Valley succeed to the Grand Final and still wishes to play in the Central Comp. The constant whinging and speculation of what the HFL might do is just too tiring to read. Get over it... the rules are in place and they are clear. I think I speak for several posters who are sick of reading about this topic. Perhaps start a 'New Topic' and all you whingers can post all the crap you like about promotion and relegation, stop boring us with it.

Agree 100%. You can blame Lobethal for trying to get the numbers for a change to constitution to allow 11 teams in Central Division. Get over it and pull your fingers out instead of looking for easy option.

Footy is back!! you little ripper!!!!

tips for the week...

Really looking forward to taking on Blackwood up there. We always seem to play well on that turf, and i also think without Gigney and a real desire to make up for our last outing means it'll be a lot closer than most will think.
Bridgewater vs Lobethal - just can't see Lobey winning too many which is a shame. I also think Bridgies will struggle the rest of the year... i reckon they played out of their socks for a couple of weeks and will come back a bit.
Hahndorf vs Uraidla - I think Uraidla have the best skilled team in the comp, and biggest bodies will make it tough for the magies
Ironbank vs Onkas - Ironbank in a close one, but i think the small oval will nulify shee a bit.
Mt Barker vs Mt Lofty - I think Mt Barker have the best drilled side i've played since being in Central, and probably have ever played.

Well they are my thoughts...

Assuming Hahndorf lose, Onkas will still be in 5th spot - so I would suggest not.

If onkas lose and I don't think they will they will be equal 5th with Hahndorf and Ironbank, thats presuming hahndorf lose. Personally I don't think IB play the thunderdome very well with the current side. They play the bigger grounds much better as they are by far and away quicker than any other side. That's why I have no doubt if they can make finals they will do ok. I know they don't fear mt barker or blackwood at all. Should be a good second half of the football year.

hi gang
back from the barossa and hopefully the mighty raiders will be back on the winners list as we look to take revenge on the tiges after that Round 1 debacle out at lobey.
fingers crossed one of our great leaders beaver is fit to play after the weeks rest. took a late hit against hahndorf that simply made my skin crawl. it went unpunished by the umpires but i saw it and reckon the hahndorf player should hang his head in shame.
cant wait to huddle around the fire over by the green shed, and rise as one with the bridgewater faithful as the mighty RAIDERS inflict some pain at THE FORTRESS.

RAIDERS till I DIE!!!

I can't see the big deal with promotion/relegation thing. Firstly don't compare the HFL with the Amateurs because we are poles apart in the number of teams. As far as I am concerned they should let teams play wherever they want. If all the current teams want to stay in Central Div and TV want to come up, then let them. Whats the big deal? Eventually the teams who have sat on the bottom of Central Div for years will realise they have no hope of ever winning a flag and will opt to drop down and those left in Country Div are happy to stay where they are. So let them!

And I agree the subject has been done to death!!

MC, pardon my ignorance on this bit.
Currently, if club X wants to go back to Country Div, is the procedure the same as coming up, apply by June 30 for possibility in 18 months time?
Surely not!

Do you really want a comp where the draw is a factor when it can easily be avoided?

Why on earth would you be happy with or push for a bye? Which lucky club gets the 'easy beats' twice?

See this?

One person complains, makes national news, Dipper will now probably lose his job with Auskick.

Strange that it didnt make the news until Mal Browns comments...

Aceman- Pretty sure you have to apply by June 30 to go up the following season, not 18months.
