Actually the decision was taken off the GFC by the SANFL because when discussed at the GFC board meeting we required more information and were unable to make a decision at the time. Due to the time we took the SANFL made the decision to stay with the existing program.

- Move one home game to Footy Park mid-year.

- Get a home game in return later in the year.

Puzzling stuff that....quick on the uptake down Brighton way.

They did have to think about their supporters who occaisionally go to games away from Glenelg you know. Would you like to watch a game that starts pre-noon? What about the support staff and volunteers who would have to go to 2 venues in a weekend because the reserves are playing elsewhere. How about those supporters who like to watch the ressies too?

Ok lets make beenreal happy and say the whole of the SA football community has it in for Port Adelaide.
Done. Sorted.

There are a few issues with Glenelg’s reluctance to move the game to AAMI.
I believe the main reason is Glenelg would not want to play a curtain raiser to Port Adelaide given the Port complex that some at the club seem to have – perhaps the vocal minority.
I think Glenelg had every right to say No, but in not responded to the request and leaving the decision to the SANFL was most unprofessional.

Well given that a significant amount of a clubs income from April to October is based on home match revenue to simply change a home match from May to July (especially when Glenelg had only had three home games up until mid May is not a simple decision). Hence why the club wanted more information. We didn't hand the decision back to SANFL, they made it for us when were were unable to inform them within the time frames that were set. It wasn't as simple as changing a game from a Saturday to Friday night as has already been raised on here.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It's ok am, you dont need to keep defending the Bays decision. None of the supporters of the other 8 SANFL clubs would have any idea how driving to Football Park makes a Glenelg fan feel, we just simply wouldn't understand the pain.

Not half as unprofessional as neither of the Port clubs being able to get together with the SANFL and arrange this well before the SANFL fixture was set.

The issue here is not due to any perceived "Port complex" at Glenelg, but rather in the minds of the self-aggrandising Port people who fantasize that anyone outside of their club gives two hoots either way about Port. You lot just ain't important.

Well it's no different there for you Port folk; the BBQ prices are uncannily similar to those of Alberton...
