I played footy against him the last round of Riverland Football when he played for the Barmera-Monash B grade.
He was the main player we talked about before the game due to his domination the last time the two teams met. He kicked seven against us earlier in the season and booted four in the last game and had so much of the footy.
We joked with him when we shook his hand after the game.
There was no doubt he was a talented footy player and was respected by his team mates and the community.
I really feel for his family. It is so sad a life is taken like this.
RIP Corey.

Corey Siemers your duties as a West Adelaide/Barmera Monash Lakeside Roos player is now completed ---- now you must take on new duties as part of the rich history and tradition of both the Barmera Monash Lakeside Roos and the West Adelaide Football Clubs.

RIP young mate.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends & team mates

Please all supporters do not forget the young girl still in hospital (Ashlee?) -- she has a long and hard road to walk from here -- my best wishes to her on a good recovery.

There will be a brief ceremony for Corey immediately after the league game (prior to the Under 18's game) on Saturday.

Well done to the West Adelaide FC for the genuine sincerity and compassion they have showed during this terrible tragedy. Scott Turner, Andrew Collins and their staff have been absolutely terrific. They have made themselves available when ever required. They have given great support for there players and the players of the Barmera-Moash FC with the loss of Corey. But also have shown there genuine concerns for Ashlee who has been so brave with her physical and emotional battle.
Hats off to you, well done

It won't affect the timekeeping, ME. It will be before the U18 game time, as far as I know.

Some very emotional, fitting words from Corey's parents, friends, family, the West Adelaide FC and the SANFL in today's Advertiser Death Notices.

So sad :(

Best of luck to all at Westies today.
Will be a tough one but a chance to reflect and honour a young man cruelly taken.

I am cheering for the Bloods today.

A moving ceremony before the start of the U-18 game.

My personal thanks to the West Torrens Club (players & Officials) who participated - again this club has participated in a sad day for West Adelaide and again this very good club was not found wanting in thier level of support.

I thought it was excellent that the ABC did a tribute after the game today. Well done to them for taking the time to commemorate a life lost too early.

Plus the umpires also from the league and u18s were out there. Some of the Eagles players went to school with him from what I understand.
