Anyway, pretty much agree that most games will be close. Although I'd expect Brahma to give Rosewater a touch up. Rosewater is very similar to Brahma in terms of oval shape/size so it'll be like a home away from home for them.

I'll have a hectic afternoon no doubt. I rate Lutheran, for Rosies to knock them off on their home deck they must've found something. I wonder how long it's been since The Lodge played at Rosies , tough venue.

I thought that may have been the case.

So now lets start getting back into each other about how good our sides are and how much the umpires cheat and how crap the SAAFL administration is!!!!!

Does everyone still agree with the poll at the top of the page that Plympton are going to win the Flag. I firmly believe that at this point it is down to 4 teams and any one of the 4 can win it on their day.

Fair assessment in the end though HB3, we were 3rd at the half way mark last year IIRC and ended up missing finals. Yes we are a different side to last year but i still think we have a long way to go to justify ourselves as a contender. A win this weekend at smithies is a must, firstly for the confidence that we can win against good opposition on their home deck.

As we all know we play a Final 5 system here in the SAAFL. I think HV will finish in 5th and play elimination final but i also believe they will lose that, Leaving the 4 teams i stated above.

Elizabeth v Plympton at Argana Park
Elizabeth should win this at home.Yet Plympton could have to much run & pace on the big ground
for the Elizabeth boys. This game could go either way and could have been the Match of the round. Im tipping
Plympton by >10 - 20 points

North Haven v Blackfriars OS at Largs North Reserve
This will be a close one as the boys from North Haven give it thier all when playing at home yet Im tipping.
Blackfriars by >10 - 20 points

Smithfield v Hope Valley at Smithfield
Could be the Smithfield boys will be fresh from the break and looking for a good start to the 2nd round.
Im tipping the home team here.
Smithfield by > 20-30 points

Adelaide Lutheran v Hectorville at South Parklands >MATCH OF THE ROUND<
Match of the round and Im tipping an upset here by home team.
Adelaide Lutheran by >10-20 points

Rosewater v Brahma Lodge at Eric Sutton Oval
Brahma lodge will want big % for the start of the 2nd round and they will be fresh & rested after the break so look out Rosewater you will be on the receiving end.
Brahma lodge by >70 + points

Lightning McQueen wrote:I'm a bit bored at work today so I thought I'd do a little write up on what looms to be round of the season so far, I don't think you could pencil in any winners confidently.
Elizabeth vs Plympton
Elizabeth will be desperate to get this win back after the round 1 disappointment, especially being played at Argana Park where Plympton have played well previously. A win will keep the victors in the top 4, a loss could see someone drop out of the 5.
Plympton have had a disappointing front nine by their standards losing critical home games and basically under-performing. They are a better side than 4-5 one would assume, they just haven't put it on the scoreboard yet. They are a class side and have plenty of depth, they haven't been belted in any of their losses and could quite easily have had a far better win/loss ratio, this game will be a cracker.
North Haven vs Blackfriars
Last time they met Blackfriars took the honours by the solitary point at a neutral venue, this time North Haven will be keen to make amends on that and keep their season alive slightly. A loss and they will be staring relegation in the eyes.
Blackfriars on the other hand have to stand up, a win will see them with a slim finals chance still, a loss could see them lose valuable ground on the next group and relegation could start being a reality. Blackfriars tend to play well away from home and North Haven tend to play their ground very well, this will be another great battle.
Smithfield vs Hope Valley
Two evenly weighted sides, both are capable of turning it on yet can put in the occaisonal shocker. Smithfield coming off a hat-trick of wins have their tails up and will be full of beans after a break and a playing at home again. A win will keep that dreaded "R" word at bay for the time being in this tight competition.
Hope Valley have no problems playing at Smithfield Oval and will venture down with confidence again one would think. Sitting 3rd with a 6-3 record they have every right to be smiling at the moment, they've won some challenging matches so far and are only a few wins away from cementing a finals appearance. Sportsbet would have this at $1.85 each.
Adelaide Lutheran vs Hectorville
Lutheran were the first team to have to face Heccies at Daly Oval this season, the 40 point loss looks quite flattering now that others have ventured there. With their season hanging in there just, this will be one game that they would love to get over the line with to keep their finals and double chance alive.
Hectorville have been the powerhouse so far and will be keen to keep the juggernaut going, with only the one blemish early in the season to the skillful Eagles at Argana Park they seem to be a well oiled machine at the moment with plenty of run and scoring options.
Rosewater vs Brahma Lodge
Rosies re-juvenated their season last week with a somewhat shock win against Lutheran away from home. You can never under-estimate Rosewater, especially at their home deck. They will be hurting form the round 1 drubbing and come out firing to keep the finals opportunity well and truly alive and move well away from the relegation zone.
The Lodge haven't done too much wrong this season, beating Plympton away and only the two losses so far. They will need to be on their game for the clash with the hungry Dogs as it wont be handed to them on a platter. I'm sure they, along with all of the other teams enjoyed the week off and should be close to full strength for the back nine.

The ladder could look a number of different ways after this round, I can't see any games being a cake-walk.

what a good write up on the teams well done !

Great write up baggy but I think heccies will get up by 6 goals. The plympton v elizabeth game should be a doozy of A game I know the dogs are keen to start 2nd half of year on the right note and with a pretty much full strength side its time they start to fullfilling all the pre season hype dogs by 4 goals.

Might want to rethink the above Piccachu..............
Jake Watts done for the year.
Forrest almost killed himself at work last week and from all reports very likely he will miss.
Davis, Burridge unavailable with work
A number of guys horribly out of form or carrying injuries.
Should be a walk in the park for Blacks.
They are straight to their word, they don't talk a lot of smoke and mirrors behind windows.
