HOW GOOD ARE GEELONG????

Postby Bum Crack » Sun Jun 13, 2010 1:40 am

I know it sounds a bit gay that I would start a thread like this, but seriously, how good are they???? They just switch into second gear and off they go. They are a joy to watch, and I don't give a toss what anyone says, they are the best team in the AFL by a country mile i(in my opinion).
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

You won't find too many people that would disagree with you BC.......and if they did, they'd be wrong.
Your mob seem to be able to add the right players at the right time. The Pod for example. You needed a dead eye dick in front of goal and they certainly have one in him.

And people wonder why I think the AFL is so much better to watch than the SANFL to watch when all I watch is Geelong in the AFL and North in the SANFL.

It's great to watch at the moment. We've actually improved. This time last year we were struggling to kick a hundred points but we are kicking big scores regularly this season.

The improvement has come from:

Tom Lonnergan: Made a name for himself as a defender effectively replacing Tom Harley.
Travis Varcoe: Only 22 and will be an elite midfielder when Gaz goes next year.
Tom Hawkins: Still not as consistent as we'd like but is developing nicely. Hot spot a worry tho.
James Kelly: Unheralded Cat who has been absolutey huge since returning from injury late last year.
THE POD: What else needs to be said about nearly everyone's favourite Cat? Pods takes the heat off Cam Mooney and will lengthen his career. When Moons does go Pod will team up with Hawkins.
Mark Blake: Cops a lot of shit but the guy gets on the park week after week and is getting better all the time.
David Wojinski: Wojo looked to be on his last legs and is now playing every game as it is his last. I thought it was one of his best performances of his career last night.
Paul Chapman: Best player in the side who has gone into midfield and out Gary Abletted Gary Ablett. CHAPPY ROCKS!

Further improvement can come from:

Andrew Mackie: Lazy 5hite that he is. Needs to extract the digit.
Gary Ablett: If your going son go out in style and stop whinging and get on with it. Needs a negative press article to fire him up so he can come out and show us all just how good he is.
Joel Corey: We are missing Joel even though you wouldn't know it.
Scarlo: Hardly played a game all year!
Otto: Can this big lug ever get on the friggin park?

GO CATS

Hawthorn are looking the goods. I wouldn't be hoping for them to be in the GF if I were a Cats supporter

Exactly. A champion side out to get the missing piece of the jigsaw. We are better than we were in 2008 and you are not. We'll win.

Got my premium tickets for the Hawks game next month at the G, when we planned the trip a couple of months back it wasn't looking as appealing as it is now.
Mind you last Geelong Hawks game I went to ended up in a Hawthorn win, we all remember that one!

Huge call REB, huge call. ANYTHING can happen from now until the last Saturday in September. You have to make it first and if you do, it's just who's better on the day and recent form will mean absolutely nothing.

Geelong- are awsome no doubt. I liked what Shane Crawford said on the Sunday Footy Show about them. He said everyone who watches the AFL should go and see them live because it's really something special.

They are the best in the business and are a great advertisment for the game. To be this good takes alot of time, hard work and of course the right cattle.

If I were a Geelong supporter I would like Hawthorn to make the GF too, to get revenge.

Just like Centrals supporters were keen to meet Sturt in a GF again after losing to them in 2002. And boy did we get revenge in 2009! :D
