If anyone gets across to the game tomorrow, can they keep a lookout for 10 from SA, Sam Gray?

Little fella from the Port Magpies but I reckon he's something special.

Agreed he is very good. He has been playing against bigger bodies from a very young age. Big chance to be taken in the draft.

Can they try and get some score updates posted up here? Would be great if 5RPH had someone at the game to provide score updates to radio, too.

Just spoke to a mate who was there - dont take these scores as gospel but approximately:

Vic Metro: 15.7
SA: 8.17

Apparently their midfield killed us and Sam Day hurt his knee but I dont know how bad
dedja: Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

I went to the game with my lad met up with Ferret.Apart from the bad goal kicking it wasn't a bad game to watch .Vic Metro lads looked bigger than most of our boys .
Not certain how Day hurt himself .He did almost take a specky then went off.
Polec Fitzgerald and Smith all eagle boys played well in patches.
Vic Ruckman number 40 huge lad only 17 .He looked like he could play league .

was a nice way to spend an afternoon with out SANFL footy to watch.

Yeah the scoreboard attendant was either very slow or adding each score up on a calculator. At one point late in the game at least 1 number fell on the ground !!

Vic Metro 15.10 (100)
SA 10.17 (77)

Goals: VIC - Young, Karnezis 3, Barden 2, Scheider, Caddy, Gaff, Harper, Conway, Wallis, Michie

SA - Fitzgerald 4, Polec, Lycett, Day, Gorring, Smith, Gray.

Day has taken a knock to the knee and missed the second half, but no structural damage expected. Victorian half back Ben Jacobs best afield with 47 disposals (30 in the first half).

SA spoiled their chances with some haphazard forward entries, bombing deep to contests, while Vic Metro were a lot cleaner through the middle and into the forward 50.

SA's best, IMHO, Brodie Smith, Jared Polec, Chad Wingard, Sam Gray, Zac Fitzgerald.

Was at the game as an observer. Vic killed us in their attack on the ball and man pressure. Think SA got a bit ahead of themselves and are now back in the pack. We where never in it. Scored that many points due to the vic pressure. Always 4 goal behind after quarter time. Some reputations copped a battering today one would have thought. Better luck next game boys. Vic country beat this vic mob by 7 goals so lets see how good we are. The vics had some real quality.

SA's much publicised talls failed to fire. Vics - bigger and stronger, much cleaner skills and moved the ball with method. SA was a hit or miss approach. Surprised not to see Jared Polec named in the best players for SA in the Sunday Mail. Zac Fitzgerald did a wonderful job after being moved to CHF ( 4 goals), only player who could kick straight. Don't be fooled by SA having two more scoring shots - they were convincingly beaten.

Not that it's a big deal but are these player heights from 2 years ago? I'm 187cm and Matthew is definitely no shorter than me.

He certainly is mate. He just needs to believe in himself.
