Has anyone heard the rumour EU and Bostons are in talks about a possible merger. Apparently they have the new name already, the Steigers!!
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Where in the hell did this idea of a treble come from ? Just goes to prove you can make anything out of anything if you want to. Just as well the Mrs bought some toilet paper this week cos it will save me having to use the Times again so I will just light the fire with it instead. FFS !!!

And yes the ol '61 carnival was there. Oh now I get the idea of the treble - it was a lead in to feature a particular person in a story

Not many people have played in the treble steiger ;) why not put the preseason Cup on the end and make it a qauddie?

The starting line-up for the first game allegedly is

Dunn, Campbell, M Parker
Kelsh, Cimarosti, Semmler
Hunt, Keatley, Castley
K Miller, Jericho, J Burgoyne
Jackamara, Cragg Sapsford, Gurtin

Charman, White, Goodwin

Int Williams, Kemp, Arbon, Owen

It will change for game 2 and 3 with the possible additions of M Burgoyne, Mason, Daniels, Smith, Hywood, Stoetzer, Wagener, Williams and King.

With the side we have and the qaulity on ballers and runners I am not sure that young Owen deserves a spot in the side let alone get a picture as one of the top 4 players in the paper?

You can't tell me Owen is better than

Goody
Keatley
Kelshy
White
both Burgoyne's
Miller
Hunt
Semmler
King

and possibly Castley and Dunn

Well as you would all know the Steiger is one powerful tractor and any club adopting that name would most certainly carry that might forward onto the footy field. Heaven help their opposition. Bring it on I say. Shit I would even sponsor them. After all I do barrack for EU. Not sure whether their emblem should be the tractor though, perhaps a "Steiger Tiger" has a ring to it

Oh and I have a treble no-one can match. I am the only person to play for Kingston SE in 1971, Christies Beach in 1973 and Waratahs in Darwin in 1981. (and if you want to make it a quaddie, I had a crap at Ruby Gorge near Alice Springs in 1975) Who else can boast this achievement.

the Port Adelaide Cup will be rivetting in the morning Port Lincoln vs Port Lincoln (or is this a replay from two weeks ago)
Whyalla v Whyalla (why come all the way down here might as well stay at home)
On Mortlock Shield players young Owen is very underated ( but not by his Dad)

Hammond deserves to be there before Tod and probably a few others, just a quality player......

Williams before Dunn as well, Dunn is a grandstander who won't get his shorts dirty, true Zoo??

Daicos - the players specifically mentioned in the paper represent a cross section of the team, not the best players necessarily. If you are going to have a dig use something credible. And before you start mouthing off that he should not be in the team at all, hark back to last year's Mortlock grand final

I think the mortlock side is not all about the best players in Lincoln it's about having the right mix of players for the job n what Owens brings is run n chase n heart so imo deserves his spot n he showed it last year !

I thought every side had a selector?

UA - Has it ever crossed your mind that there is not a BFC footballer in the top 30 players in the PLFL?
