Very good player was Clive

Dylan played B grade on the weekend. Won't be long before we see him in the A grade I reckon.
Interesting to note that their father is a Seaton legend and I think that a legend of a club would always want to see their sons playing at their club. They have won 3 Metro West medals between them-Ashley 2, Dylan 1

No Mercy, I'm interested to know whats your view on the whole Matz situation.

Clive Matz is the uncle not father.
If a bloke like Ashley Matz who's been playing reserves footy for Eagles can't dominate A5 footy there something dreadfully wrong.
The lad has alot of ability but obviously lacks some mental composure, the lads got some issues at present off the field which has had an effect on his ability to adhere to team structures & rules at Seaton & also the WWTFC.
Regardless of their ability ( like Ashley ) we at Seaton (as shown) will not hesitate in clearing such players elsewhere as he seeked.
He was suspended for a week by the coach for breaking team rules at Seaton & obviously couldn't stand up like a real man should & take it on the chin, he chose the easy way out & saved the coach the job of giving him the DCM.
I hope he can get himself together & straighten himself out & good luck to him at Rosewater.
Good luck to Rosewater in managing him!

Para Hills have had no changes in A grade coaching staff from last year their main problem is injuries had more than their fair share of them this year IMO

Any word from the Iggies v CBOC game on the weekend? Sounds like a good contest. I heard Igs were up all day before getting pipped at the post.

wouldnt it be in the best interest of the club to try and keep a young player of that ability around the place.
Not saying put up with rule breaking and the like.
but try and work with him so that he can be a future leader and champion of the club?

I reckon both WWT and Seaton would of tried to work with him but it got a bit beyond them unfortunately.

He was welcome to stay & do his time but chose to move on, some players take it on the chin & move fwd yet some choose the easier option & head to a lower Div like Ashley, wheather thats good for him- time will tell.
Fisty there are players that can't take criticism the right way & in their book they are never wrong, if they don't want to listen & you keep them onboard you take the chance of it festering throughout the club & then you have a team full of them. We have had a few at Seaton over the years but no tough decisions have been made by previous coaches, some think they are bigger than the club look at the other Ashley ( Place ) he was the same & got his marching orders.
For the better of the club going forward you must terminate the whiteants mate, they do alot of damage.

No idea what they should have done McPhil, thats why im not a head coach of a footy club.
Those decisions are made by the blokes that have dealt with it before.
All I was saying was surely a player like that you should try and keep.
Not saying Seaton didnt do that but they seemed to just let him leave, or thats the way it looks from an out sider looking in.

I think if a player breaks the rules then penalties apply. The right thing was done by the coaching staff in my opinion.
I hope your club does the same thing when players break your clubs rules?

I can guarantee you mcphil plenty of clubs & coaches out there sweep it under the carpet coz they worry about the effect it will have on the club & supporters.
The supporters & Co don't see what the coaches see week in week out, there are some gutless coaches that sit on the fence to please everyone.
The coaches in the end are the ones the fingers get pointed at when the going gets tough, so make the tough decisions i say.

could not agree more.
to many clubs are run by people with self interest and egos to match, and in the end its everyone else fault except theirs.
a fabric of a club is its discipline, which produces the culture ,its rules and their for its future.
just look at port districs, theirs a perfect eg
well done seaton.pitty more coaches dont take the same stand and set the standards that are required instead of worrying if they will get the gig next year
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

yea totally agree, on a different note i seen wanders, degabriel, marshal, thompson, patruno and mascara at the palaise last friday night all blind drunk and saying how shit there coach is i dont think that can be swept under the rug NM, i think maybe a 1 game penalty would be sufficient ;)

I'd hate to see Wanders play us without a hangover then - he would have got over 50 touches for the day instead of the 30 he did get
