Well, credit where credit is due!

I have been critical of the SAAFL and the umpires coach etc over the years and this year I have to say what a bloody good idea it is to send A1R & A2R umpires to officiate in nearby A Grade matches rather than send out 70 year olds. Wonder who suggested that? Anyway well done to those that implemented it!

Sure there was a slight delay of 10-15 minutes to the start of the A6 match but IMO on Satdee at IF the 2 Men in Orange did a professional job and were hardly noticed. Just the way a good umpire should be just officiated and got on with the job.

Plus well done to all concerned with the Ressies, especially the 2 Club Umpires who had nearly all players involved in a little incident before Half time. Wise Heads prevailed, both clubs and their umpires took control, settled things down, laying down the law and the 2nd half was completed without incidents. Good job Doggies.

Overall the Doggies put on a good show for the Triple Header and put plenty of pressure on in the A Grade, well done.

The "Crew" on the Hill at the Entrance to your very good facilities, unfortunately don't do much for business or for opposition supporters. But I suspect that not many of them are financial members or contribute much over the club bar as they drank from their own esky's. The waft of smoke and abuse as the JB's got drank was not the best example for my teenage kids or wife. Can't be a good advertisement for your Juniors either, my advice is at least move them away from your front Entrance.

Well Done to West Croydon, I have played/coached against West Croydon for many years and I was really impressed today. They were professional from start to finish, not only on the field but off aswell (supporters included). Every player in club polo/shirt and slacks, and they way they play, HARD and with SPIRIT. I was impressed and would say they will be hard to beat from now on in, especially with only 3 away game in the second half of the year. Well done to Matty and all the committee at West Croydon, it was like going to a dofferent West Croydon.

Obviously now my football has finished I haven't played or been to West Croydon for 10 years so my memories are still of dirty behind the play incidents and copping absolute garbage, and then some, from the supporters. In my time you were lucky if you came off the ground with your jaw still intact. Now that may sound harsh, BUT that is what is was like years ago. I agree, Well done to the football club for cleaning up it's act. Now you just need to sort out the locals that sit and drink there all day, all week.

West Croydon [8-1] - Seem to be the balanced side in Div 6 at the moment. They look the most professional team and play like one too. Highly discliplined, well structured, but aggressive at the football and hard working. Premierships aren't won in June, but they clearly have everything to take this season all the way.

Lockleys [8-1] - Hiding under (and not riding on) West Croydon's coat-tails at the moment, but this is not to suggest they are not worthy of equal top spot (especially given that they in fact beat West Croydon). Ooze class with some gun runners, but don't have the physically formidable forward targets that other teams possess, but hasn't seemed to overly affect them. Some questions over their hardness, but they'll have the chance to answer them come finals time.

Trinity OS [7-2] - Lost their first two games (to the current top two teams), which lead people to question their pre-season favouritism. They've now won seven on the trot and have re-instated themselves as a contender. Round 10 & 11 they take on West Croydon and Lockleys and have a chance to log-jam the top three and leave this Div open more wide than Belladonna.

Colonel Light Gardens [5-4] - Hello! Last week they were sitting in 6th position, but now go into the long break back inside the top five. Have copped more scrutiny than any other team given their domination of this Division in recent seasons. Injury has halted their first half of the year, but an unlucky streak can only last so long. Expect the class that has been sitting on the sidelines to slowly filter back and for them to start mounting a challenge for the double chance.

Kenilworth [5-4] - Dropping down from Division 5 and successfully recruiting a large number of players it's a wonder they haven't been under the microscope as much as CLG. Also suffering from their fair share of injuries they would be one of the most grateful to see the bye arrive this week. With possibly the best ruck combo in the Division and a formidable full-forward they have the potential to make an impact on finals, however, it is interesting to note that they did not beat any of the teams above them in Rounds 1-9.

Houghton Districts [5-4] - Have beaten two of the top five, but were pantsed by Trinity OS and West Croydon. Got plenty of talent and are perfoming reasonably well after their promotion from Division 7, but have gone missing in some games this year. In the mix for finals, but dropping 3 of their 5 home games could come to bite them on the arse.

Paralowie [3-6] - Finding it tough after clearing several good players to other clubs in the off-season. A new coach and a fresh outlook could see them trouble some of the top 6 teams. No question that they will avoid relegation.

Henley [3-6] - The 1-point win against Mitchell Park was probably enough to avoid relegation. Has been tough for them this year after promotion, but the hidden benefit is that their players are up against a better standard of football than in Division 7 and when they get asked to play in the club's B Grade, the class gap isn't as great. Probably only need to beat Ingle Farm and they'll avoid relegation.

Ingle Farm [1-8] - Finally got a win and things can only improve from here. Can most definitely avoid relegation, but need to beat Henley.

Mitchell Park [0-8] - So close to a breakthrough 2010 win in Round 9. A team on the improve and don't expect them to allow their opposition to kick cricket scores in the second half of the season. Will still find it tough to avoid relegation, not unheard of though.

darth this has been a problem for many years. not a bad bunch of blokes but it can be very intimidating to opposition supporters and ingle farms own supporters. i wouldnt take my son to that part of the ground to watch the game

That stat seems to run in order of ladder position, with the exception of Trinity OS who have conceded less than Lockleys.

We have been in the relegation zone for 4 years straight, if you reckon the club is unhappy with how we are sitting at the moment you are seriously mistaken. We'll see how things pan out over the next 3 months.......
