The no laps theory has served Kersbrook and Brett James pretty well the last couple of years

The Riddler wrote:SHOC were very good on Saturday thoroughly deserved their win. Very young and ran in numbers exceptionally well...No.29 Adam Glenn was outstanding could well be the best utility in the comp, he rucked, took kick outs, kicked goals and played as a midfielder. I know they were missing Quirke (inj.) and their best onballer in Prince (promoted up) so if they get them back they could be even better in the 2nd half of the year, could be a smoky?...definately a wake up call for us and the reality check we needed, they lads were very angry & disappointed after the game.
The 2nd half of the year is going to be very very interesting. Every position in the top 5 is still up for grabs imo. I expect Central United & Raggies to have a massive say in the last 9 rounds.
Anyone keen to do a mid season review on each team?

very close game considering flinders is bottom of the table and adelaide uin is the other end what happened flinders play some good footy or dod adelaide play sluggish

heard several different reasons
a - flinders had a few players coming in this week
b - adelaide had a few out injured or covering higher grades
c - the wind was across the ground meaning the game was easier to bottle up
i'd suggest a little from column a, b and c

The Mawson Lakes Saints hosted the much improved SHOC at Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval on a dark miserable day it what was an ominous sign for the Saints. With the opportunity to go a History Making Full round undefeated, and another side battling for the prized double chance, stakes were high.
Saints Skipper Lachlan Kennett won the toss for the Home side kicking with the aid of a breeze to the Northern end. But the toss was about the only thing Mawson Lakes won for the day, as the youthful SHOC repelled all attacks in the first term. No.1 and 62 who weren't named on the team sheet for the visitors were dominant in defence and Adam Glenn was everywhere. The second term was an arm wrestle as Kennett tried to inspire his team. A small lead to SHOC was built out to a handy one by the third term with a 20 point lead and breeze behind it's back pulled away to an upset victory. Kennett was lone band for the Saints, running hard but couldn't penetrate the defence of SHOC. Saints defenders Kaleb Tymco and Michael Hassett had their moments and despite Ivan Novosel having one of his quietest games for the year, still managed 4 majors. For SHOC, Glenn was clearly best afield and would have received the 3 votes from the umpires. SHOC's captain Cameron Carrol who would have been excited of the news, that Krispy Kremes are opening a store in Adelaide finished with 5 goals.
The Saints now head to the break at 8-1, a position they were at last season before stumbling at the final hurdle. Coach Riddle will look for a much better showing in a fortnights time against TTG, or again will on the wrong side of an upset. SHOC have shown in the first half of the season, that will play in this years major round, something that has eluded them for the past couple of seasons.

I look forward to hearing what the club does about it sobcu, was disgraceful to say the least, regardless of how old the lad was! Lucky he only escaped with a split lip and wasn't seriously injured, but a real courageous effort to hit him from behind also!!!! Hope the SAAFL takes action also, but credit to the CU coach who did apologise after the game. Not good for footy, especially after the game was played in fairly good spirits the whole match on the field with it being a pretty close game up to half time.
