Just an observation Ace , Noticed recently that plenty of your comments towards Gepps have been driected at the coaching panel in recent times pointing out their many "flaws" and simply asked a question on your desires beyond 2010. Keep the opinions coming Ace, makes for great reading ;)[/quote]

Beyond 2010 I'll be extremely happy to slide into obscurity, nothing further I can achieve but happiness if Gepps can become a force in Div 1. at some stage but probably beyond my time.
Coaching "flaws" as you have put it so diligently are subjective and perceived, some see it one way, some see it another.
When the time comes that your point of view cannot be aired, it's time to close the book.

That's a shame you want to get away Ace. However i will say there is a fine line of showing support and trying to put your head in where it's not wanted. Everyone is entitled to there opinion so i don't see why you can't have that. Gepps being a force is along way off they need to get alot more consistant and by the sounds they need to get rid of the inhouse bickering going on. There is enough talent there to build a powerhouse team but talent only gets you so far. Ace are you happy with the coaching staff at the moment or do you think it needs a change??

I would have thought that with the amount of younger players at Gepps at the moment unless your time is ending within the next 2 or 3 years that you will see Gepps as a Div 1 force?? From what I have seen on the park this year and listed on their teamsheets each week there aren't to many players over the age of 25 in both the A's & B's??
Gepps also very well known for having a fantastic junior set up, with many teams & plenty of support staff around. I think that whilst performances this year have been less than impressive and consistency over 4 quarters has lacked that the future at Rowe Avenue is looking pretty good for years to come??

MM it's not a matter of "wanting to get away", it's more a case of knowing when you've had enough. Time for the younger guys to step up and do the job but you can't beat experience and that's an area where we struggle in many ways and have done for years.
With regards the "putting your head in" bit, I have always been of the view that new ideas are welcome, problem is, some don't take kindly to hearing them. The inhouse bickering is "onfield only" IMO, so not sure what you are referring to there.
With regards the coaching situation, it is not my call so will not comment other than to say, I find it hard sometimes to distinguish just who is a player & who is a mate, a few of our younger players feel the same way.

Stickers, my idea of a "force" is becoming a "Goodwood Saints" where players want to go without constant coercing and having the ability and setup to draw people to the club irrespective of your financial status. Then playing and winning finals which is the biggest and best drawcard of them all. That doesn't happen overnight or without hard work. Having a good junior setup is important, but they have to be managed in the transition which is not always an easy task.

I didnt want to post my comment Ace in the fear of a $$$ discussion occuring again, but you have hit the nail on the head. Getting people to your club because they want to win and want to succeed not simply for $$$ it gets you know where. I feel that Gepps may have followed the $$$ path rather than spend quality time on transition of juniors to Seniors and now its come to a point were players are unhappy and results havent been delivered. In saying this i dont know the finer workings of Gepps but from the outside looking in the big $$$ players seem to be there for that and not for team/club success!

M. Ashley @10/1
T.Cocking @ 20/1

Not sure Meersy would knock back his role at West for thecoaching gig at Districts. Steedy is my tip.

Meers wil get it. Why would he want to stay as an under age assistant coach in a junior programme when its a big step up to division 1 from there. if he was the ressies coach or higher it might be worth it but not assistant in a junior programme. surely districts are a better gig

How good is that! The art of "cross selling" at its very best.
Now would you buy a car without asking how much it's going to cost you? I think not so the Coke is undervalued but overcharged, however, the coin is in the Gepps Cross can, great stuff that! ;)

So were you hungry, thirsty or a bit of both? The people in the canteen must have seen something written across your forehead I think, may have started with a G.

Like these tips. Gaza usually push Goodwood and should be a cracker of a physical match.

Didn't see the game so can't comment, but it may be my suggestion on "not resting players" was taken to heart, and looking at the result, it may have been a smart move not to!

I think Gepps are in real strife, they won't play finals footy this year in my book.
I heard a rumour theres 5 players from Henley's A grade that are heading to South Africa for the world cup, these players all left today . A huge hole to fill for Henley.
Maybe Gepps got the wrong info & thought all these players were not playing saturday?
