If its comfirmed, its a good appointment. He has done well. He coached the U16s at Port and then had a couple of weeks off and will finish off the season with Portland.

That is correct, started as of last night.
Players seem to be happy with the new appointment,
even at his first training, was doing different drills which will be good for a change.

Well you wouldnt expect him to walk in and just do the drills that Thornton had been doing? I am sure Lippo has his own thoughts on footy and training etc.

Only other thing i will add is the John Wilson's comment in the SAAFL publication is a COMPLETE LOAD OF CR@P !!! It was not a mutual decision, club and players wanted him to stay - Thornton didnt. Maybe John was speaking for himself, rather than the club...

A very good appointment indeed well done Portland. The Magpies Under 16s didn't go as well as he would of hoped with him at the helm but nevertheless he's a very coach and I think he will communicate well with all the players and the club really well. A real positive move.

Yeah great bloke. He said that he has played a few games this year and hasn't really enjoyed his footy since playing in our under 18's GF 2 years ago, so decided to come back.
