Everyone should get around to MP Oval for the B Grade game tomorrow, with a new recruit being unveiled in the b grade for Rangers...

Mr Peter Tokarski...

WCP, MP - Is there any truth to the rumour that on Wednesday night the Boston colts teams were pelted with rocks while they trained by Mallee Park juniors? If true, it is deplorable behavouir and another incident to add to the long list over the last week.

When the entire incident on Saturday was instigated by their most respected player / club official and thier on and off field leader, it shows a sad state of affairs with where their club is heading.

I heard that both umpires who officiated the game on Saturday have been stood down by the league for the week for not doing their job properly and by all reports it is lucky that reserve umpire BP saw the incident otherwise both players probably would have gotten off as neither field umpire gave any evidence at the tribunal. DS should not umpire another MP game.

Earlier in the week people were talking about the worst things they have seen at a MP game, on the top of a long list for mine was a Reserves game in 2006 when players were walking back to their positions after a Wayback goal and Marcus Liddle turned around a king and Wayback Player knocking out 3 of his teeth. 15 weeks was the suspension for that incident but it probably should have been 15 years.

Also someone suggested video footage at MP games but sadly that would not make much difference with the PLFL tribunal. In the later stages of the 2008 GF no.5 for Mallee Park king hit a Wayback player 30 metres off the ball and it was caught on video. Waybacks sent the footage into the league and no report was laid. I hear the same MP player was their runner on Saturday and threw more punches than anyone in the Melee and still no action taken against him.

I hear rumours that a few young Boston players don't want to continue playing football in Port Lincoln after the events of Saturday and you can hardly blame them and it is not good for the future of the PLFL.

A mistake was made 30 years ago by bringing MP into the league and this has also been said by many MP senior officials. With this current investigation going on by the SANFL and the Western Zone Director perhaps they should recommend that it is in the best interest of the PLFL and Port Lincoln in general that the League continues as 5 team competition from next year.

Where'd you hear that Cove? Had a long convo this morning with a BFC junior coach, and they didn't mention anything.

Must have just been a rumour then. Glad to hear it wasn't the case.

Cove - total bullshit about the rockthrowing, nothing happened, no-one was there, unfortunately because of a couple of thugs who can't make it and resort to violence once beaten, their younger players are the ones to suffer.

The Lidell thing was disgraceful and the injuries were likened to a car crash.

The 2008 GF was compelling viewing for the wrong reasons. When the mellee started in the 2nd qtr I think, JB's missed AW with the most lethal elbow I hve ever seen. Missd by only inches but would have put whitts into next week.

How about Hippy breaking DR's jaw in the 2006 PF. Very clinical

Jeez...not much has changed then? I must admit, when I first lobbed in Pt Lincoln and heard about the 'set up' of the league with Mallee Park's make-up, my first thought was NOT that it was independence but rather segregation.

Who is playing who in the GFFL this weekend? I know Tumby are playing Ramblers which if the game is anything like the last one, it should be a good hit out. How are the teams looking Fev, KWF? Also what has happened to Michael Bates Fev? Is he still playing?

A few pretty tired boys in GFFL this week a lot close to finishing seeding
which will make them happy. To have that out of the way before Mortlock
Ramblers have started to gain momentum with a few more now available and one or two
to come back in after Mortlock.
