one Mick Raegar springs to mind, bloody hell can that kid play!!

Raeger, Hawksworth, Smart, Sandercock, Sanderson, all good young kids coming through and with the new coach coming in 6 months early they might not lose to much interest.
As for celebrations, i hope a lid was kept on it a bit, Mitchell Park as your only scalp in nearly 2 years isn't that huge an acheivement. Stay out of div 7 then party on

Turn it up Old Farmer if they got beat by Mitchell Park you would still be having a go and then some.
Well done Ingle Farm and everyone is entitled to celebrate a win doesnt matter when it is.

Sharks forfeited a game in the D's, for the only time I can remember in the 16 years I've been at the club, last time they were in Div 6 in 2005. Still almost made finals that year, just had the usual mid-season drop-off. Next month might be tough but if they stay around the five, blokes will start rocking up again.

against trinity the sharks had only 6 players in their c grade side that played in the c grade in round 1.
a few injuries in each team above and the players do get pulled up the ranks pretty quick.
there's been about 45 players line up in the c grade already in only 8 rounds. unfortunately that lack of stability is reflected in many of the results.
credit to the 16 from the A6R that played in the 'd's - they put up a very good showing. we were woeful in the 'c' grade on the other hand...

Of course you celebrate a win, my point was, small step on the way to bigger goal, and i'm sure D. Payne would have had a simmilar message to the players. With all the kids in that side , you would want them to stay focussed on the bigger picture.

Really struggled all year in 2005, after winning 4 premierships in 04, alot of guys left the club or retired, the week that the D grade forfeited was against Elisabeth out there, the C grade could only pull 18 guys for that game too and i think lost 2 of them in the first 5 minutes of the first quarter.

First win in 2 years...... I'd love to know what the bigger picture is? What, win another game. I think everyone is in that boat. When your in Div 6 and your wins are that infrequent, you party hard then front up at training and try again next week... There's no science to it. This crap about staying focused on the bigger picture.....

I'd be thinking the bigger picture is avoiding relegation and moving forward as a club. they've had a couple of admirable losses and would be capable of beating Henley next time they meet them on their home deck. The new coach has a 50% win/loss record I think, they are a young side that will get better in time.

Exactly the point LM. Sounds like David Payne has finally got these guys moving in the right direction. Maybe the coaches win/loss record also reflects their chances for relegation. Hopefully they can scrape through this year because there's no doubt they're on the up and up and who knows how those kids will be at this time next season.

dont think they are on the up and up yet, its one win against the 10th team..those kids were there last year as well..they beat the whipping boy of division 6..thats all..lets keep it in perspective..dont forget they were only 3 points down to KFC at half time..with the old coach in charge..
sure payne may have changed things and introduced new ideas but its the opposition that have made things look better the last 2 weeks..its all relative..first task is to avoid relegation..dont worry about "on the up and up" calls..lets see what the score is after they play the 1st team this week..beat them and i will join the chorus of "up and up"..but i suspect i will see a 15 goal loss..

There has been significant improvements this season though, including before Paynes took charge. Lost to Houghton by a couple goals, Trailed KFc by 3pts at half time, Lost to Henley by a couple goals, Kicked the 1st 6 against Paralowie and lost by 4 goals and now finally a win.

I think Ingle Farm are definately on the improve, and hopefully after the weekend they have remembered how to win and can finish of games now when they are in a position to win.

I do agree though with your tip for this week, hard to see them beating Lockleys.

Might as well Tag the whole team and annoy all of them! ;)

If any side was suseptable to under estimating an opponent it could be the "Vidal Sassoon Demons" almost happened last week, however a couple of the "Big Guns" brought it Home in the last quarter.

I'm not sure what cheap flights to Bali are available this week or what concerts are on but I do know there are a couple of injuries and now is not the time to underestimate anyone.

Very wise DD, I believe LFC have a bit of a history in doing that in the past which ultimately cost them a fair bit. It seems this present team that is up and running may have over come that hurdle to date

The bigger picture is defintely to avoid relegation and the Farmers are still a long way off doing that. They missed their opportunity against Henley a few weeks ago. If Henely beat Mitchell Park this week and again in Round 18 they will have at least 4 wins which means Farmers will need to win at least 3 more games to have a chance of staying up. That will not be easy because based on their performances this year they are still a fair way off the top 6 teams.
