getting the ball out of the middle is EXTREMELY important on small grounds & with virtually no ruck, Our job will be very difficult. Where's Trent Ormond Allen these days? If We don't smother Norwood with tackles in the middle, We could get creamed!

Is it fair to say this game is more important to Norwood than Centrals? Centrals have really broken the legs' hearts at the parade over recent history, but Norwood would be looking for a win to get some belief about their chances this year. And wins against the dogs will be vital for teams wanting a top 3 (and top spot itself) finish.

But the dogs are starting to get their full team returning to fitness and form and none of the boys ever take a game lightly. No doubt the guys in the last 6-8 picked will be looking at Boyd, Havelberg, Schell, M. Westhoff, Sansbury, Jenner coming back into consideration and even Hynes and Duncan will fancy their chances of getting into the side before the year is done. Not to mention if Nash and Griffin get dropped from the AFL there might be some good players in good form mising out.

Dogs by a couple for me. Henderson to turn it on for NFC.

I remember that game as well. One of the best games of SANFL footy of the last 10 years. Back in 2002, was something like 20:3 to 17:5. Carslake kicked 6 from the midfield IIRC. If Norwood play half as well as they did that day they'll take some beating.

?? What are you talking about Centurion? I rate Buckets as the best ruckman in the comp, particularly on a small ground where he can make his physical presence felt more easily! no rucks?? :?
We used to be good :-(

The strange thing is that Scoullar, McKenzie and Cowan all played in that game, but I've always thought Buckets and Sponge were better in the wet......

The first half should be appetising. According to Scott's insightful ladder, Central have won 7 first quarters and 6 second quarters from 8 games this year. However, they have only won 3 third quarters and 3 final quarters. Overall however, they have been in front for 88% of game time. (Amazing!). This implies that they have started very well but had perhaps a sluggish second half. I know they have been hit hard by injuries - were many of these suffered in the second half of their games?

If Norwood and Central are close at half time, here's hoping the Legs can run over them in the second half. From memory, the last 3-4 games between these teams have been very close at the final result, so everything points to a cracker of a game.

Great to see Norwood doing well this season. They are one of the three teams that we haven't yet beaten in a Grand Final and their success brings them closer to that milestone. :D

I think for most of this year the Legs have done the hunting, but this weekend the Dogs will come at them pretty hard so will be interesting to see how we respond to the challenge .. In fact to that extent I'd expect most teams to come at us harder in the 2nd half of the season.

I think our best is good enough to give us a decent shot at winning any game, but any dip below %100 and good opposition could capitalise.

I thought we had a quiet 20 minutes on Sunday just before and after 1/4 time and whilst the Eagles perhaps didn't take advantage of that, we won't have that same luxury against the all conquering Dogs.

On Norwood's current form I think we are a chance of winning this one, but CD are always a threat.

CD have done a great job to avoid the Legs in finals this millenuim ...

Ive only seen the first qtr on tape CD V SA game
What I was impressed with was the efforts of Cameron Milne
This guy is relentless, he plays more like a ruck rover than a ruckman

The great tradegy is he injured his hip and is possibly out for the season
That is dissapointing for the teenager
Would have been good to see the duel with NWs Brady Dawe who I think is a very good player

One thing I am positive about this game
is 2 teams with good game plans
Win draw or lose it makes for an entertaining day

Don't want love mate.
We've always been hated/mocked, for football or other reasons.

I'd just like to see Topsy posting positively for once...and he did.

Surely a sensible poster like yourself would know that Centrals were roundly ignored for about the first forty years of its existence. Go on a run like you have and of course you'll be hated, that's the way it should be. I'd love Norwood to be hated again.

Always happy to confound asinine expectations DW.

There we go, back to the arrogance we all know and love.
I'm not sure what's foolish about me suggesting you might like to post anything positive about the modern day SANFL.

But yes, I'm sure you would like your club to be hated again.
As all supporters would hope for theirs.

You focus on your club and I'll do the same with mine, something I've been attempting to do in this thread to your obvious disappointment.

However I'm thrilled you care.

Play on DW.

Moving right along...

tricky selection coming up for Norwood this week with few if any Legs players deserving of being dropped after last Sunday. Thankfully for once we're free of AFL players so we won't have people coming and going at the last minute though Walker can drop by any time he likes.

We'll need some bigger bodies up forward so hopefully Bowny comes up from his injury, Shooter gets a recall and Trotter's ankle is OK. Then will come the hard part of choosing which two to drop.

Can't wait.

Walker made a fair contribution against the Dogs in the Legs' win late last year didn't he?
