Having a great year... Some thought they might struggle after finishing 4th at end of 2009 minor round in Div 6

although we finished 4th, it was more of our first half of last season that let us down. won 10 of our last 11 matches last year so obviously we started getting things together which I think a lot of ppl in div 5 didnt know. Still a long long way this season and plenty of work to do. As we have seen by the results this year, on the day anyone can beat anyone.

hope we get a few of those days soon .....

Yeah Ok. I certainly didn't know that.

AL happy to be playing back at home for the first time this year on Saturday!!
Will be a big crowd, and happy to have finished 5-in-a-row away games.
Looking forward to that run home!!

Blake Davis has tried hard this year for very little return. Im not sure if it is his age or just a general deteroation of football ability, but he is really struggling to get the ball. And on the odd occasion that he does get it, an error generally transpires.
However, players like Ty MAD DOG Duerden are doing extremely well to make up for these players such as Blake that fill in the numbers, again managing to get a few goals on the weekend and having around 10 marks in the poor conditions.

Would it be fair to say you should/would have expected more injuries than most given the average age of your A grade squad?

Hallidays injury is minor, Rogers had work and Switala is recovering from severe pneumonia. Pretty much the rest of the squad are under thirty. Just having an unlucky run more than anything. Beaten all above except an impressive brahma on their deck so not all doom and gloom at the eags. Hopefully start really bouncing back hard this week. Got to win games we are expected to.

entertaining of you go for hope valley... :(

Whats going on down at the kennel. Plympton are really struggling by the looks of it. The side on paper is a gun side but the results arent going your way. Whats Symo been saying. I guess Rats, Jimmy and a few boys going overseas didnt help and veenvliet and hibberd getting injured hasnt helped either but you would have the depth to cover them considering the b's have won the last 2 flags. its just strange as you have been in the last 2 prelims and the side you have assembled this year is way better and would push alot of div 4 teams. Its just strange that you havnt got the results the club would be expecting.

Some home truths were aired after the game by symo but weather it sinks in or not only time will tell, have had injuries to key players which hasnt helped but every club can use that excuse so next week we will see how the playing group responds. Have heard j smith and Hibberd maybe back from injury next week which would bring some much needed experience out on the field.

Has jsmith played footy at all this year. has symo run out of patience yet? Might have to bring in some older heads ie hilder into the side show the boys how to play. Do you think the way the boys are playing symo has started to regret taking the job on again as he was reluctant to coach this year. Hibberd and jimmy up fwd gives some fire power the side needs. but with the way heccies are playing will it be enough.

J smith has played 1 game and the team looks alot better when he was out there. Not sure what symo is thinking been a frustrating year for everyone but we are only half way through so all is not lost will be a very interesting game this weekend against the pacesetters of the comp.

Terrible luck for him, hasn't had a good run with injuries in recent seasons. Might be earning himself the nickname of "porcelain" ;)

Heard a rumor he may give it away after this season and concentrate on getting his body right for the Masters comp in a decade or so

Is the injury anythink to do what he did the week before against Hope Valley! Looked like he had some injury at 1/4 time but came back on to the field when the game was allready over at 1/4 time.

bit off both...
If hope valley play this week like they did in the 2nd half on saturday, anything is possible...
Blackfriars have to bounce back soon, no better time to kick start there season with a win over a fancied elizabeth who have been strugglin a bit with injury's.
