Round 11 - Nwd v Central District @ Nwd Sun 6th June 2:10pm

Postby GWW » Fri May 28, 2010 11:57 pm

I can recall a few very close games between these 2 clubs in recent years at Norwood Oval. I would expect Centrals to win this game though by about 4 goals.

Will be interesting to see what mix Central go with in the ruck after Cameron Milne's horrific injury, especially if Jon Griffin isn't dropped by the Crows...

Norwood in good form and the Dogs keep winning, this will be the match of the round for mine and really looking forward to it...

Central by 3 goals in a close one...

Both wrong !
Norwood will win this one.
The real trick is beating the Dogs in September.

Justin Hardy will play as the second ruckmen if Griffin isn't dropped by the Crows. Boyd WILL come into the side this week without doubt. Would think we would more than likely lose Symes to the Crows as well.

Don't know what the stats say but just from thinking back about the games the Dogs haven't played Norwood Oval that well in recent times. The small oval doesn't really suit our switch which is so effective in opening up space.

I wouldn't be surprised either way with this result we have tended to lose to contenders early in the season only to beat them come september ala Sturt, Glenelg the last couple of seasons.

Topsy, when are you going to post your thoughts on here about the upcoming game?
At last here's a chance for you to post something positive in a thread involving Centrals....

It should be a ripper.
Norwood's sluggish start to the season is certainly well behind them.

Noone bursts a bubble better than the Dogs, so obviously this is the biggest test the Legs will have faced thus far ... Hopefully we get decent weather and this game attracts the crowd it deserves.

Didn't the Dogs lose the last 2 season's second semi finals???? They can be beaten in Sept and October if the right team has all the boxes ticked on the day.

Just another game for two points DW. The game against West the week after is just as important.

(Is that the kind of thing you're after or are you looking for some old fashioned 'smash the oiks' rabble rousing? :D )

You can do better than that....I think Norwood would like to do better than the "just another game" cliche.

How about the "this is a real chance to stamp ourselves as a contender" cliche?

And no, I'm not really looking to promote violence Topsy, what, what eh?

I agree with Topsy its only worth 2 points, where as i hope we win will be more than happy to see some of the lads return from injury and get through without incident.
After all over the last three years the Bays,Sturt and a few others always seem to be able to win in the early part of the season but struggle at the buisiness end of the season.
Looking forward to a good game!!

Through the misery of the last few years the one game, with a few obvious exceptions  , I knew Norwood would be up and ready to play for is a game against Centrals.

That being said I'd like to take my previous post back and say the game against West is far more important.
