V i enjoy your passion and enthusiasm but you must be the only one at Bridgewater with such love for your club... To walk into an opposition club rooms for a beer and outnumber not only players but also supporters is disgraceful! How can you sustain a club with that little support... Its outrageous that players drink at the pub across the road, rather than support the club that fits them out with a guernsey each week. Feel sorry for the few who make the effort and can only hope, for their sake that the rest of the club takes a long hard look at themselves and pull their finger out... Rant over :D

"On a side note was good to see only one shanty player in the club for a beer with the thunder lads after the game the ironbank boys out numbered them 7 or 8 to 1 . Well done to Conner Healy for coming up for a beer "

A similar situation after they WON against Mt Lofty.
There was not a Bridgewater player in the bar until about 50 minutes after the game; around 18 or 20 Mt Lofty players and officials ventured over to have a beer, but where were the Bridgewater players....having a crown lager in the changerooms!!!

Called into Shanty before heading up to lofty. IB killed em off in the second quarter and although they didn't score a goal still had 14 scoring shots to 11 in the second half. Got the points again and having seen them for the last month any side that thinks this mob can't play better be ready for a surprise. That second quarter yesterday was quite outstanding in the conditions. 30 scoring shots 3 weeks in a row shows they have the goods. Talking to one of their guys afterwards they actually now want to play the so called good sides. The rest of the season shapes as a good contest for the 5th spot I suggest. Onka's v IB may in a few weeks may resolve the issue.

As for relegation - loby now, no question at all. Don'tdesreve to be in central, that is despite the deplorable behaviour of TV of late.

cant say the ironbank win was unexpected. bridgy have 7 first teamers out at the moment, including recruits josh charles, nick malinovski, scott march, michael eagleton, mitch ekon and other first team regulars such as don barlow and jack johnson.

that said, ironbank were stronger over the ball in the second quarter and deserved to win. dont get too excited with the ironbank scoring shots though, must have been at least 10 rushed behinds.

looking forward to the rematch with a full squad to choose from.

agree with the comments about the poor effort in not having a drink after the game with the opposition. better to have a beer with the opponents after the game than to hide in the changerooms drinking out of the esky.

Every team has injuries, so just get over it. I'll admit that some those listed are big outs, but if the Raiders are planning to compete with the big boys you'll have to learn to cover player losses.

One point I will concede to the Raiders is how well the oval stood up yesterday. In years past with the amount of rain we've had it would be very muddy, but driving past today it's still covered in grass and looking OK. Certianly not the pig stye that most of the Ironbank posters refer to.

Anyone else picking up on the irony of Ironbank posters having a crack at other ovals ?

Gervais my comment on the pigstye was not so much directed at the oval more over the whole set up in general small soggy changerooms , no shelter for supporters to watch the game in the poor weather etc. as a matter of fact the oval has held up quite well considering the weather and 5 games on it over the weekend and infact looked better than ammi stadium that the port v richmond game was played on .

On the injury side Ironbank also had a few out with some of those quite important in our set up so probebly pretty even in that regard imo .Just good feeling to win 2 in a row and move on to next week :D

Think you'll find Birdwood in the gun at the end of the first round of matches. 2nd round Loby/Birwood clash will be pretty significant.

Correct. Think Loby are just ahead of Birdwood with IB now moving clear of them. Don't quote me, but I think the points are A - 5, B - 3, S/C - 2, J/C - 2. Would need confirmation of that.

Yes, currently Birdwood 3 points behind Lobethal. I agree that Bridgewater and Ironbank look safer. The Lobethal Birdwood game could be the game that determines either clubs future. Lobethal will be looking for Senior and Junior colts wins but Birdwood (and Ironbank) look to be struggling in both those grades.
Will be an interesting second half as clubs, I'd expect start to "adjust" teams for the ride home.

Good point.

If you were lobey/birdwood and accept that it's unlikely that you will win the A grade against the stronger clubs, it would be tempting play your a-grade players in the b-grade game it an attempt to at least get three points for a b-grade win.

I think that Bridgewater will be safe due to the strong performances of their senior and junior colts. Conversely, Ironbanks juniors are extremely weak, but their b-grade should gather them enough points to be safe.

I think the fact that one season of colts performances are taken into account in such a massive decision like relegation is disappointing. Colts success is far too subjective to ages, maturity and what not.
our senior colts 3 years ago didn't win a game, 2 years later they take out the cup, then this year alot of the players move to seniors and it's back to rebuilding. It's just to much riding on the fortune of having succesfull colts in a particular year.

:? Well picked up, the incidents sound shocking and would not fly in central and hopefully go punished in country. I guess that would be the bigest punishment that TV could receive. Although, if they impose big punishments within the club they could be seen in a better light...?

hi spot
must admit the loss to ironbank is still sinking in. the boys tried their hearts out in testing conditions and fell agonizingly short.
well done to ironbank just managed to scrape home despite some very ordinary football in the second half.
not often a team is goaless in a half and still gets up so enjoy the win thunderer supporters.
but seriously get off our backs over the whole facilities situation your set up out at ironbank cherry gardens is just as second rate if not worse.
also apologies for not making it up for beer after the match. jumped in the old hilux and raced home in time to see a heroic win from the mighty yellow and black. congrats Damien h first of many many wins at the helm.

V,
When it rains at Bridgewater you have limited options to watch the footy due to your clubrooms being across the road. I was over near the coaches boxes on those wooden seats, the rain came and my only option was to watch from the small verandah of the changerooms ( 50m from the oval ). Your oval only fits 20 cars parked on the side and if your not one of those fortunate people to have a park there, then your stuffed.

We're merely suggesting some shelter for which to watch the footy when the rain comes. The wing closest to the road seems a perfect place to have a big shelter and you throw a bar in there and you will make thousands!
