The last qtr was very disappointing..
But let's put some perspective in it..
Bock got injured 1/2 way through the 3rd qtr and our defence contained players like Davis, Schmidt, Armstrong with a total of 20 games between them.
Our midfield had players like Sloane, Douglas and MacKay who again haven't played that much footy.
Our forward line was Walker, Petrenko, Dangerfield with a total of 60 games between them.
Last night we had
4 players with 10 games or less experience
5 players with 11 - 50 games experience
Good players don't just grow on trees.. you need to draft them and build them and it's happening..
We have had 6 debutants this year in;
Gunstan, Armstrong, Henderson, Jaensch, Young, Davis
and guys who had played 1 or 2 games prior to this year in;
Cook, Sloane, Schmidt...
I'm not sure what else you expect![]()

I much preferred being at the game last night then the North one and we only lost by 2 goals to North....

That being said i would like to thank the umpires for ruining AFL football for me, as many people have said its almost like they have become bigger than the game itself. Past players alive or dead must cringe every game they watch (thats if they havent given up on it already) what was once a tough hard game that REWARDED PLAYERS WHO WENT AFTER THE DAMN FOOTY. I mean come on this holding the ball rule is beyond a joke, how is it possible to penalise a player that puts his body over the ball and have 2 to 3 opposition players lying on top of him and pay a holding the ball against them. HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET RID OF THE BALL. It goes against everything a player is taught, get in there and win the ball for your team. People say the interchange rotations are making the game quicker, well is the holding the ball rule as it stands now also a speed up to the game, seeing as thay are promoting the player to slap the ball away from the contest instead of killing a contest.
There were so many decisions that were poorly missed for both teams, Petrenkos holding the ball that wasnt awarded, Dal Santo getting head high contact from his own player and getting a free kick, Dangerfield getting fallen on in the goal square, THREE OR FOUR CENTRE BOUNCES THAT FAVOURED STKILDA THAT ALL RESULTED IN GOALS. The goal that came off the goal umpires leg and was called play on. I could go on but i have already wasted the time for whoever has read this. Thanks Jeff Geischen im going back to the SANFL where the game is in alot better state
