First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Three things annoy me more than ever about the redbacks in fact there is more but I will stick to three.

1) How many of them seem to be out late at night during the cricket season, sometimes after a days play when they have to play the next day. I would have thought when you are performing as poorly as they are it might be time to cut out the social activities and stop trying to live like superstars and get back to playing cricket. That includes the senior player’s right down to the younger ones in the team.

2) They have a win like they did last Wednesday night and people say they are back on track and pat them on the back. Id like to see them string a few games together before treating them like heroes.

3) There is to much positive talk about some of our young cricketers and some of them believe the hype. I am sick of hearing Cosgrove, Ferguson, Cullen, Manou and Bogas will all play consistently for Australia at some stage. The fact is while they might have 'potential' all are currently lucky to even be in the Redback’s team. All this talk about Cosgrove losing weight so he can play for Australia is a bit much, how about losing some weight so he can perform for the Redbacks? He is a long way off playing for Australia at the moment and really should be playing District cricket.

The whole thing is an embarrassment, it’s such a mess I don't know where to even start fixing it. Flipper is running out of excuses and should walk away at the end of the year if not sacked

Excellent post ca.

An exceptionally disappointing result.
To collapse is one thing but for almost all of the top 6 to show no application in such a situation was absolutely heartless.
It's all been mentioned above but the young 'guns' are periously close to having an extended spell at grade level.
Here's the numbers for the weekend's top 7:

SA Deitz 361 @ 45.12
DS Lehmann 378 @ 42.00
MJ Cosgrove 314 @ 34.88
DJ Harris 184 @ 30.66
CJ Ferguson 259 @ 28.77
CJ Borgas 223 @ 22.30
MTG Elliott 161 @ 20.12

Now, compare that to the other 5 states top 7 numbers. :(

Well bowled Dizzy.

Interesting to read Dizzy having a crack @ the SACA publically having a crack @ the players for not trying hard enough, etc etc.

(Saturday's paper)

Sounds like there is a big rift @ the SACA between them and the playing group.

Probably get rid of half of both sides would be an improvement...
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.
