Righto, lads, righto. I can wear the fact that we haven't won MORE, I'm man enough to admit that. I'm not corking JACK though, V. It was all worth it to see your combined paltry wins there for all to see.
How about this - the next derby (you vs us), you and I have a beer (if your business hasn't taken you elsewhere) and join me in the Devs club song. Or come to a Bays game and join in the tigers song, you do remember that one don't you?

As the wet weather rolls in, I reckon a few results might be a bit closer than I first thought, so FWIW:
onkaparinga valley vs mount barker- Roos by 6 goals.
birdwood vs uraidla districts - uris just way too good, 11 goals. Would be 20 if dry.
bridgewater vs ironbank - can't agree with Vaughan and say that this would be game of the round, IB by 7.
lobethal vs blackwood - Blackwood by 16 goals.
mount lofty vs hahndorf - game of the round - devs by 27 points. If it p#sses down tomorrow night, 9 goals could win it.

Tips...

Onkas vs Mt Barker - Roos by 5 or 6
Birdwood vs urailda - it'll be a tough game but i know the lads are looking forward to the next 3 weeks and facing some massive challenges. Will only grow us as a unit
Bridgewater vs Ironbank - going on what i've seen i'd say bridgies by on current form you'd say ironbank by 3 or 4 goals
Lobey vs blackwood - Blackwood by 10-15. blackwood better off with Gigney in my opinion.
Mt Lofty vs hahndorf - Mt Lofty by 6 goals.

Ironbank 8:22 def Bridgewater 7:12

Ironbank didn't kick a goal in the second half in what was a usual scrap of crap football at Vaughan's FORTRESS. Easily had more of the football though, a real non event from the raiders.

Crap weather, Crap ground and crap football, couldn't wait to get out of there.

Crap shooting at goal as well, not all the 22 points can be blamed on the weather.

Well yet another great win by the roos today i think 8 goals in the end. I have to spare a thought for onkas today as we had Paul Heinrich umpiring. I think its silly Mick Taylor allows him to umpire us, he embarrassingly followed Simon Nunan around all day and made sure knowone got within a 5 meter radius of him. Dont get me wrong i love the great Noona but we would have smashed them with out the help of the umpires. It makes me wonder how Blackwood would feel if if Robert Tanner umpired them V Onkas next week and followed his brothers around handing out imaginary free kicks all day? (no offence to either parties)
Tonight ill be sipping my port enjoying the fact that im feeling the Roos will have a undefeated year in 2010. Bring on September already, nice weather and the cup.

Hey Vaughan, can you PLEASE spend some of your wealth on some facilities for the punter at your "fortress"??????

Instead of meticulously recruiting your high paid players for little gain on the field, can you please redirect some of your perceived wealth to demolishing the green shed and canteen , take down that rediculous green tent, put out that smoking bonfire, and erect some decent facilities to encourage the spectators to not only attend your home game in inclement weather, but whilst they are there, to encourage them to spend their money over the bar and at the canteen in comfort, instead of sitting their car?????

As a punter, Bridgewater has lost it, long ago!
I am surprised that they are still allowed to be involved in the Hills competition!
As much as I wanted to see Vaughan his ground in the WET has destroyed this.

As we all (bar V) predicted, a Thunderers win. No surprises there. Quite the fortress.
Last night the Devs knocked off the Magpies something like 5.8 to 5.2, or thereabouts. Holy crap it was a non-event. Surprisingly, Subway Stadium held up well deck-wise. Sure it was wet-as but not much mud, just real slippery. Lofty were way better running it out and away but Hahndorf had a real dip and the closeness of the scores is about right. I would imagine though, that on a dry day Hahndorf would be too big and slow but in the wet they stood up pretty well.
B grade - Lofty by about 4 goals, and it was better to watch.
Winter sport, hey!

Have to say the same for the game at the pig sty JQ was pretty tight wet in and under footy for most of the day the thunderers just blew the game open with a 5 goal to one 2nd quarter then after half time was just a slog with only 3 goals kicked and a heap of points and a fair few of those were rushed / of hands as i said earlier just happy to get the 2 points and get out of there . On a side note was good to see only one shanty player in the club for a beer with the thunder lads after the game the ironbank boys out numbered them 7 or 8 to 1 . Well done to Conner Healy for coming up for a beer

Now the bankers have won the last 2 and are goin in to next week against lobies to prove a big point. Think smith is back in from his shoulder injury. If the boys string the 3rd one together, it's gonna be an interesting 2nd half of the season!
