Shocked I am. Only Goody ? I thought he was one of a quartet you were about to sign. (The others being Edwards, McLeod and Birdman of course) Roo and Perie are still a chance to don the red and white is what I hear.
Talking of Goodwins - I also heard that TFC were about to sign all 3 Goodwin bros in a move that will shock the living daylights out of WFC.

How would the reporters get their heads around that - Goody to Goody to Goody to Goody. Good God !!!!!

All 4 played in the 2003 premiership side...Andrew, Matt, Paul and Ronny.
Would have to be a record.... 8)

That would've been a GOODwin

What about a BALDwin

LOL @ Steiger's comment...

So how are those two new potential recruits looking? Talk seems to have died off a bit...

Come to think of it can't remember seeing you on Monday BTB. What is it with you Waybackers - win a premiership, get on the slops and not even turn up for work, leaving all your workmates to slog it out by themselves. No wonder the country is f****d

Lucky you were there Steiger otherwise the wheels of the financial industry would have
fallen off.
How many people ended up travelling over to KI last weekend? my understanding from the
league a few weeks previous was that in order to try and keep under the budget that was
agreed to that it was meant to be the team, coach, manager, trainer (with one to be supplied by KI)
Then I hear That selectors and league delegates etc attended.
Does anybody know the full story?

Have it on good authority that the following people were on the plane to KI - The players, Zoomer, Don and Troy (trainers), Tokas, Fitzy, Beebs, Parso (umpire). Not sure if some of the above support staff helped pay their own way. Even if they didn't I have no issue with them attending - all selectors need to see players performances with Mortlock in mind and going over with a half cocked support staff is not professional either. Besides you need a few to keep the players in line (but I don't know who keeps the support staff in line ;) )

Thats fine Steiger and I dont disagree but I attended two meetings at the League when it was all about the money
it is an expensive exercise to send a team to KI. It was done as a sign of good faith and appreciation to the KI league
but I dont understand how it suddenly turned around to include the additions.
It will be a difficult decision for selectors to pick a side given the great effort put in by the under25s
which is a fantastic position to be in.

KWF:

Can confirm none of the League Exec. made the trip.

All were helping at the junior day, bar Don Smith, who was travelling.

I was involved as a team manager with a Riverland team to KI in 2003.

Although we received sponsorship from Sealink we went over on a shoestring budget. We left Saturday morning at 6 am by bus, slept on the floor of the Kingscote changerooms, played in borrowed Loxton jumpers and left Sunday morning.

We took 21 playing players, an emergency who acted as water boy, non playing coach, assistant coach who was also the runner, 1 trainer, 1 league executive and myself. KI had all their officials there plus South Adelaide reps.

It was rushed, It was cheap and we got belted. It would have cost us a fortune to compete on an equal footing with them plus playing on an oval that had 7 inches of rain fall on it in a week was a distinct disadvantage to us.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I can't put it down.
