Think you can justify that with their junior set up and not the c grade introduction. We have no C grade and we're going just aswell as Lockleys in the 2's. I think our junior set up has produced this and luckily for us we still have another 2-3 years of solid quality juniors coming though......

Agreed but they have always had a solid juniors.
And all i sugest is that the C grade teams would add a bit extra for a senior side of any club it keeps the welth of knowlage you have with older players and more numbers to choose from,[/quote]

i believe their under 18 team folded so that was the main reason of fielding c grade

are you suggesting his time is up?

No undecided. How long has he been there for? Have they been building up year after year ?

Can also cause issues with players picking and choosing where they play, especially in the lower division clubs. But yeah I agree it definatly can help if managed corectly and correct coaches are picked and followed through with....

Speaking to a few lads down there, they only have about 4-5 players that would be able to play under 18's playing in the A's,B's, and C's atm, so that cant be the main reason for it!!

Henley would have to be the most undisciplined team in div 6 (others that were there said the same aswell). There was a lot of behind the play incidents, on the ball incidents. They need to have a real good look at themselves starting with the captain of that team that was possibly the worst leader Ive ever seen. He was the instigator of 90% of the incidents during the game and am pretty sure he got yellow carded as well. Leading from the front? I think not. He is the one person you would think sets the standard and i was amazed to see him set such a pore standard right from the get go.

Have any other teams experienced anything like that from the Henley boys this year? full credit to the lockleys lads who kept their head, and didn't get sucked in to this. As a saafl follower i had to come on here and express my opinion,i know that henley in all other grades are not like this.

ok all after speaking to an A grade player from lockleys yesterday im gonna have to agree with H4AG he told me that number 18 was snipering blokes 15m off the ball and was just dirty all day, he even mentioned the coach telling the lockleys players to pretty much head hunt for the last qtr, the player i spoke to isnt one for the soft ball either so it must have been a pretty poor display by henley

On top of those players there were 2 or 3 others that didn't want to play above U18's, one has gone to another club for 2010, others are sitting out of footy for the year.

There were 2 reasons the U18 were put aside for 2010:

Lack of players, 9 or 10 + a few U16's coming up isn't enough to field a side.
The coach had a change of employment requiring regullar travel and had to resign, this happened early in the new year.

The C grade coming in had nothing to do with the U18's not fielding a side, that was put in place to give the large number of B's the club had a chance to play footy every week and contribute to the overall depth at the club.

2007 Blackfriars (5) Golden Grove (4) - blacks played finals both years in div 5, groves went straight through to div 4
2008 Westminster (4) Hope Valley (5) - valleys have been good in div 5, Westies went straight through to div 4
2009 Hectorville (5) Braham Lodge (5) - they sit at #1 and #2 on the ladder and both could go through to div 4

do you think the current teams of LFC WCFC KFC CLGFC and TOS are up to those teams? going straight into finals and GF's in division 5 and getting promoted?

personally i thought the golden grove div 5 team was one of the best in that division i have ever seen..

just an opinion..dont shoot me :)

you can only beat what the competition puts in front of you but i think this years better div 6 teams are weaker than previous years..and it doesnt really mean much..im just a bit bored :)

dont hate..just debate

Probably have the longest injury list of all Div 6 clubs ATM. Plenty of class, always a contender.

lets cut to the chase on CLG.
yes they will be a contender because beyond the fact that they are a skilful team ,beyond the top 3 teams the rest of the clubs would struggle to make finals.
CLG have over the years had the opportunity to stamp their authority on the lower divisions but havent.
unlike hectorville, brahma, wos, blackfriars and hope valley who when they had their chance took it,CLG got caught up in their home and away form.
they continually recruit the same sought of players and coaches who all enjoy their uncontested, outside game but dont like it when the going gets tough.
they refuse to acknowledge that their is a problem at the club with recruiting, culture toughness and game plan
just my opion but except for CLG people, thats what most people think even if they dont say

well said dee man

Some very good write ups this weeks footy budget and I am normally critical of some columns. However i'll pay respect when it's due. Just quietly though IF's winless streak in the A's is 28 weeks going back to Blackfriars round 15 2008 ;) . Keep up the good work though. Be interesting to see how the rain effects this weeks scores but!! Even though Mitchell Park have been getting their a***s handed to them, if there is rain they still have 4-5 very good players who I rate and if the conditions are slippery could prove very tough to knock off. Their first quater and a half against us was very good. This game will be very close if the rain comes in...
