How about they organise a jury of 12 people before the show starts?

Also thought they should mix up the tribes a bit more. It's too predictable.
What about 5 tribes of 4 contestants, and all the challeneges are individual, and the top 3 get immunity. Then all the contestants have to go to tribal council to vote. Something different at least.

What a crock of an analogy. If that were true, it would mean Geelong winning all 22 games, getting to the grandy and the other 15 clubs being jealous of Geelong's game style and deciding they shouldn't win rather than the grand final being played fair and squarely.

No my point is that was Russell was too pre-occupied with just making the GF and then hoping others would respect his game and vote for him. He didn't build the relationships with the members of the jury, rather he burnt them in a manner that was way too obvious.

From the final six everyone was happy to keep Russell in the game (he didn't get one vote in tribal council IIRC after Danielle was evicted) as they all knew he wouldn't win. Sandra, Parvati and Jerri knew he wasn't a threat so they were happy to go along with him. For the last week he was just along for the ride, he got used in the same way he used them earlier. Its all part of the game.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

At the end of the day the whole show is about entertaining us, the viewer. These players like Russell, Coach and Johnny Fairplay are the reasons we continue to watch. After 20 series, the format is predictable and its the personalities are what keep us coming back. At the end of the day it's CBS and Mark Burnett who are the winners. $1,000,000 is nothing to them. They reward the popular players of the series with $1000,000 for the fact that they recognise that that is why we watch.

The better series to watch are the ones where big personalities are playing, such as Palau with Richard Hatch, Marquesas with Johnny Fairplay, Coach in Tocantins, and Russell in Samoa. However, its usually these people that burn bridges with the jury and therefore rarely win. (Unless you're watching for the perv factor and trying to get a glimpse of Amanda Kimmel's beautiful ass!)

Seems to be a lot of Love for Amanda, and while there is certainly nothing wrong with her, there are some others floating around I'd prefer to get my hands on...

Sydney, Amber, Heidi, Elisabeth and Christa to name a few.

I agree whole heartedly with your assesment am Bays. Russell was indeed carried along in the last few episodes. It was pretty clear he would not receive votes. Anyone who would expect that Russell should expect votes from someone like Danielle/Rupert/JT etc is indeed more delusional than Coach.

Russell Hantz = most entertaining player on survivor.

Russell Hantz = possibly the most stupid player on survivor for honestly thinking that the way he played the game would be respected by the jury.

Hats off to Russell (though, he doesn't have his hat anymore! ) as he did a brilliant job at manipulating, lying, finding idols, winning a few challenges and making it to the end.

Hats off to Sandra. She should have gone home straight after Courtney and yet she ended up winning it.

For me, Parvati and Sandra were both the best two at playing the game. If Candice hadn't switched camps we wouldn't even be talking about any of these three...

Well, he definitely didn't do anything against the rules, and yes, you could argue that the jury are a bunch of sooks, but... you do seem to have a problem comprehending that at the outset of the game, all players knew that they would be voted on by a jury of their peers. Russell f****d up in that respect

I'm pretty sure that the Survivor team will not be changing their voting system to suit the likes of Russell. It's not make it to the end any way you can. It's make it to the end any way you can without pissing off people too much.

I loved watching Russell, but he is not the complete player.

I understand exactly what you're saying.

I'm just pointing out that in every series the person who deserves to win doesn't. It's always the weak as piss player riding on coat-tails that wins it because the jury members take it personally.

I like the way the jury set-up decides the winner, it's what makes Survivor different from all other reality/game shows.

Russell has no social skills, and it cost him. Yeah he can blindside people without blinking, but surely he should've learnt from his first game, that using that type of game plan wasn't going to give him any jury votes. The man is a genius in some aspects, and and an absolute dumbass in others, and only has himself to blame for not winning.

gee i thought Russell was only playing the game, but you read what he has to say, and it would appear he behaves the same outside of survivor...

unfortunately he was never gonna win with the way he treated the jury and i agree that the others played him along, cos with him sitting there they would get the votes...

not sure how close the 2 seasons were, but its a fair effort to go back to back survivor

There was 20 days between the end of Season 19: Samoa and the beginning of Season 20: Heroes vs Villains. He is definately a legend of the game but is destined to never win it!
