yes..and hes got a few mates..

Is this the same stewart that played for lockleys a couple of years ago and always seemed to go missing or "injured" in the big or hard games

Whats happened to clg, three years ago a flag ,then minor premiers and went out in straight sets then again straight sets last year now on the slide .Had lots good players over the time and correct me but three coaches in three years ,are they on a slide to div7 in a few years ???

Probably have the longest injury list of all Div 6 clubs ATM. Plenty of class, always a contender.

lets cut to the chase on CLG.
yes they will be a contender because beyond the fact that they are a skilful team ,beyond the top 3 teams the rest of the clubs would struggle to make finals.
CLG have over the years had the opportunity to stamp their authority on the lower divisions but havent.
unlike hectorville, brahma, wos, blackfriars and hope valley who when they had their chance took it,CLG got caught up in their home and away form.
they continually recruit the same sought of players and coaches who all enjoy their uncontested, outside game but dont like it when the going gets tough.
they refuse to acknowledge that their is a problem at the club with recruiting, culture toughness and game plan
just my opion but except for CLG people, thats what most people think even if they dont say
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

i know that has been the view of CLG over the last few years but mark corey has been working very hard over pre season and during this year to focus on just that, being hard at the ball and the contest. im not saying that its all come together just yet because it hasnt but we are definately aware of it and trying to change this perception.

sorry whats holding them back dee man?[/quote]

lockleys are in a position to make a statement not only to this division and league but also to their supporters who have watched them get close but with no rewarding results when it counts.
their are several reasons imo that this happens.you may or may not agree

they do alot of things right but what i believe is holding them back is the following:
their is no game plan really in place.rely on their few stars to get them over the line, that is slowly starting to change but they still rely to much on a few
when they do get the ball they go boundary every time
switch the play on very few occassions
have a good midfield but they all play the same ,need to go away from always the running players and put at least one in and under player in their
are to easily pushed off the ball
no real direction from a football sense
the coaching panel has been good for them in the past but they are now being held back
i know they are getting some great advice(naley)but its interesting watching that at the breaks, they take in what he has to say with eyes wide open but can not say the same enthusiasm with head coach
have never thought myself that fathers coaching sons above juniors is a good idea

their best win this year was against west croydon but if you really look at the game properly trhey were lucky on the day:3 goals over the top ran thru
2 boundary goals that will never be repeated
and more importantly played a hawks team who tried to beat lockleys by playing their game and not the hawks normal style.
i will leave it up to you to read between the lines and see what i think the real problem is.
i know a lot will dismiss this but just my opion
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

To cut a long story short, basically the past 3 yrs (when we played them-Heccies) they just haven't had enough quality key position players. Voyzey was the only one that springs to mind.
And you're right they relied on too few too often e.g. Corbs, Mickan etc
