Don't quite understand the point in even comparing the two. What are you trying to prove?

During the regular season this year, this is the top ten players for field goal attempts. Not made attempts. just attempts.

Monta Ellis 20.1
Kobe Bryant 20.0
Derrick Rose 19.7
Kevin Durant 19.7
Carmelo Anthony 19.5
Amar'e Stoudemire 19.0
LeBron James 18.8
Dwayne Wade 18.2
Andrea Bargnani 17.8
LaMarcus Aldridge 17.5

I can't see how that's taking too many shots.

In the playoffs this year, thus far. This is the top ten for the same - shot attempts:

Derrick Rose 22.7
Carmelo Anthony 22.0
Russell Westbrook 20.6
Kevin Durant 20.4
LaMarcus Aldridge 19.2
Dirk Nowitski 19.1
Kobe Bryant 19.0
Dwayne Wade 18.6
Danny Granger 18.0
LeBron James 17.9

If that's how many shots those players are taking, are they not all ball hogs?

IMO, Kobe and Carmelo are two of the most pure jump shooters in the game. They should be taking shots.
There's a difference between being a ball hog, and taking shots because it's in your team's best interests.

If you want to see a ball hog, watch Russ Westbrook play in the finals.. he's taking more shots than Durant. And I'm an OKC man.

why is it when Kobe has big games it normally reads with 3 or 4 assists? If things arnt going well for him I rarely see him bring in others.

Carmelo Anthony is a very offensive selfish player. No D! Im glad Chicago didnt give up Deng for him. He proved it in the first round against Boston

Kobe assists the ball.
Also, an assist doesn't equal a pass.

If he's shooting around 19/20 shots a game and has 3 or 4 assists, that means he's passing the ball to others, for them to assist, a lot.

Kobe demands a double team SO many times - and of those times, he gets the ball to a player who then gets it to a player.

This is my point about using only stats (and flawed ones at that) to make a determination.

If he gets the ball to an open player 8 out of 10 they should nail an open shot (assist). By ball hog i meant that if he had a team mate in a better position he would take it himself. He's a great player no doubt but everyone seems to think he's the only piece of the puzzle at LA, he has great players around him, I think they should be doing better then 0-2 against Dallas

It is not that simple.
Good ball movement is a key in basketball, moving the ball around... it's not always one pass then shoot. To say that 8/10 times someone would nail an open shot isn't right.

As for doing better than 0-2 against the Mavs... that's sport! That's basketball!
It's not always how it should be, else it would be boring.

The Spurs should've beaten Memphis, but they didn't.
N'orleans shouldn't have got two games off the Lakers, they did.

Dallas could have easily been out against Portland, they aren't. That's jut the beauty of sport, and the NBA.

One of the three or four best pure shooters in the league, and he isn't taking a gross amount of shots ... so I really struggle to consider that being a ball hog.

Home court, should at least be 1-1. Im not one bit surprised the Spurs are gone they limped to the line and paid the price for injuries at the wrong end of the season. All it took was no Ginobli or however u spell is name and u saw what happend. Spurs peaked to early and were inconsistant

Kobe and the Lakers would never of won the last two and played in the last 3 without Pau. However Kobe is no were near the ball hog you seem to claim, every player in the league is told to take there shots when they are in there spot on the court, just so happens Kobe has a lot of these places, How about when D.Rose decides to shoot another 3 when he is a horrible 3 point shooter and has other ways to be effective with the ball. Kobe does what he has done all this year and the last few as well, take shots in his spot, when ever he is not in a known Kobe spot, the ball goes through Pau or Odom.

The best point has already been made, he takes the shots he is a hog, he gives them up then he is in the wrong to because he should be taking control, i think Kobe is a twat, but he is a damn good player and by no means is any more a hog then D.Rose or Durant or Lebron, he does what is needed. You cant make them all

i know there's "sh!t" going down. it was pretty much just Bynum saying he needs more help on D. ya kinda blowing it out of the water saying sh!ts going down.

and yes, i know you called that, and i'm enough of a man to admit i'm one of the guys that shot you down. good call mate. at the time i was obviously grossly underestimating not only DRose, but the Bulls as a whole.

Great start by the Bulls and Rose. CJ has come off the bench for 6 in the 2nd as well. Solid start for Boozer as well, we need him to start playing well.
